altered 3 ring binder

i want to make an altered 3 ring binder, to use as an 8.5x11 scrapbook, but the binder is made of a plastic, textured material. i'm not quite sure what adhesive to use, because i think that Mod Podge might be inadequate. i don't have any sticky strip, but i suppose i could order some. any suggestions on what i should use?

I've had great experiences with sticky strip on a ton of other surfaces, but I never tried it on textured plastic. Still, I can't think of any reason it wouldn't work. Are you covering the binder in designer paper? If so, plain old 3 M double sided scotch tape might work. For fabric and other materials I would definitely try sticky strip or maybe a hot glue gun.

Have you ever seen a regular binder covered before? I have seen a binder at Archivers but it was chipboard. Do you have an ATG that might work but tje color of the plastic binder would still show at the edges.

Have you tried spray-on adhesive? 3M makes a good one, and I've used it to adhere paint to plastic.

You can get the binders that have a clear plastic cover and slide the paper right into it. These are a few that I have made,

If you're ot interested in purchasing a regular album (I guess they call them scrap book albums), then consider making an entire cover for the loose leaf binder you have. Make it just like you did book covers from paper for your school books many years ago. You could make it out of fabric or any kind of paper. Even consider contact paper then cover that with fancy print paper or fabric.

Eternity - Love your album covers. I put all my scrapbooks in the white 3 ring binders. I hadn't thought to stamp covers for them. What a duh moment for me!

Getting paper to stick to plastic is stuff. I had a smooth plastic embellishment I wanted to put on a scrapbook page and I found the neither glue dots or sticky strip worked. I tried double-stick tape and so far, so good.
