Default Altenew inks

For those of you that use this ink, do you recommend the cubes (in the 4 pack) or the full size oval inks? I am new to altenew.

I have both the small cubes (because they came as a bundle with a stamp set and dies) and the full size ink pads.  I get a good image out of either, however, I prefer the larger full size ink pads, just personal preference.  I would choose which ever size you are comfortable using.

thanks Stacy. I use full size SU ink (I am a demo) but I really want the colours that come with the sets. Just not sure if I should invest in the big size as they are twice the price. Do the cubes cover the images well enough?

Just my two cents

From a gen POV-I like cubes.
Pro: 1) they cost much less
        2) they take up much less room
3)They are much easier if you want to mix colors on a stamp or are inking tiny stamps
         4) I have much less problems getting ink on the door of a misti /block if using clear stamps

Con: 1) It is a lot more patting to do a large stamp, esp a BG stamp.
        2) You may have to refill it more often.

Maybe play with the ones you have for a bit-unless you already did?

Thank you. I decided on the cubes. There were just too many colour combos I wanted. I made my first Altenew order yesterday and it is a big one! So excited!

Curious to hear back on how you like them.  I like them when I am inking up something small but when I have a larger image, I get lines and darker spots all over.  Maybe it's user error, I never hear anyone mention this issue so I can't be sure.

Sorry I didn't reply earlier.  I used a cube this weekend again on a project.  The stamp was medium sized.  I noticed when I use them that I lay the stamp upside down on my workspace and tap the ink on holding the ink cube.  I don't seem to get the lines and darker spots mentioned.

I have not had good luck with my Altenew ink cubes.  I have 3 sets of 4 cube colors and I don't get good results.  I love my SU inks but I don't like the new clamshell design, so no more SU.  I have my heart set on the Gina K inks.  I'm waiting and hoping she has another 50% sale, I didn't have the money the last time.

The Altenew cubes are nicely color coordinated with the layered clear stamp sets, but if you have favorite colors, I would definitely invest in re-inkers for those favorites. The little cubes don't hold that much ink....'specially if you have to walk away without putting the little lids back on.  Just my 2 cents!
Mostly, enjoy the experiments.....

I have the distress minis and all the refills. Love them! I just ordered most of the oxides. Can’t wait to play with them! I want to try another brand to get some brighter different colors that would work for blending and stamping. Maybe some primary colors ? Just a different palette. Any suggestions as to what I should try?

I love my Altenew ink cubes.  No problem inking any size stamp and as others have mentioned, I get far less ink on my stamping platform. On a side note, I have yet to purchase any reinkers...the cubes are quite full of ink. Altenew is one of my most fav companies. Love all their flowers!!
