Default alphabet stamps

Am I the only one? I see alphabet and monogram sets and think of all the things i could do with them. They are so appealing to me-but I really don't use them that much. I'm debating over a set right now. Honestly, no one I know writes notes. They send cards-get well, happy birthday, etc., but they don't just send a note. They e-mail or phone. Why do I have this weakness? And now a real question--When you monogram something (a graduation thank-you for ex.) do you have to put the last initial in the middle or can you put all 3 in order? If you put the last initial in the middle shouldn't it be larger than the other two? I'd prefer to put them in normal order, but it seem like I've heard that you're not supposed to do that.

You can put all three initials in order and the same size, or put the last in the middle in a larger alpha. You can use just one initial, either last name or first, too. Last name is more formal, but who's that formal anymore? KWIM?

I totally understand your feelings about the monograms. Love them, feel compelled to buy them, hardly ever use them. I'm going upstairs now to figure out some other uses for them....Thanks for giving me a purpose this AM!

A gallery search for monogram brings up lots of pages of examples. I love monograms.

I recently received a Paper Wishes catalog that has a round momogram stamper kit that looks pretty cool. I really like the look of monograms, but I have same problem as you described. I don't send notes. The kit is $35+ shipping. It looks like it would be fun, but I guess I'll spent my $$ on other things for now. Think monograms are last initial larger in the middle and the other two smaller on the side. Good luck. I don't think there is an AA (alphabet addiction) group yet.
