Default Are all of the stamp storage containers the same?

I just bought a cuddles and tickles set off of ebay that was suppossed to be in it's original container ..... this container is twice as tall as any other SU conatiner I've ever seen pluss it doesnt have Stampin up embossed anywhere on it. Also it has a tag on it (the kind with a whole in it to hang it from a rod) I emailed the lady to ask about it. SHE WAS OFFENDED THAT I would ask at all and said that's the way the container came from SU. ..... Does anyone know if this is so?

I bought a retired set from someone and it sounds like the exact same box you are describing. It's twice as tall and it has the hole to hang it from the top. They must have packaged them this way at some time. Unless we bought it from the same person on ebay!

Yes that sounds like the same style box. I hate it I now have an odd ball on the shelf :? I like all of my items to match and now they dont I know it's crazy how something like that would bother a person .... but it does

I have been buying Stampin Up stamp sets for 7 years. The containers have always been the same for the wooden blocks. Back when they used to sell foam stamps, they had thinner containers for the foam. Otherwise, the plastic containers have always been the same with the Stampin Up Logo. The seller must be lying to you. Ah the joys of ebay!

I emailed the seller and she states that she was a SU demo and the containers from 5 yrs and before were all the bigger bulkier size with hanging tags (????) and also the typical "why would I lie" statement. ARRGGHH

Is there a way to buy extra cases from SU? I really really really hate that these dont match

I don't know how long ago, but SU did sell there stamps in different containers that opened on the short side of the container. They were a little thicker, but Cuddles and Tickles is a newer set and it would have come in the standard size container. HTH

Default Stamp Storage Case

I bought a retired DD Grapes and it was the tall box. The Cuddles & Tickles that I have from last year is in the shorter box.

i don't know about that set in particular, but some of my older (much older) sets that are wood mounted are in those strange cases too. i hate them as well, but it's better than nothing. i wouldn't assume she is lying to you, just that she has had the set a long time.

Starla

The stamp cases are listed under the demo supply order. If you are a Demo, or you have a demo, perhaps they can get one for you. If not, I can help you.

Please pm me if you are interested.

Thanks

Yes, Any stampin Up demonstrator (real, not ebay ) can order those for you.
If you don't have a demostrator let me know and I'll be happy to place that order.
Good luck!

I, too, have a couple of these cases for older sets that I had traded for or bought quite a while back. I think that is the way that SU! used to package wood mounted sets.

she must have bought the set a long time ago, I bought cuddles and tickles almost 9 years ago, from SU and it came in the normal size box.

I bought some old stampin up stamps from a retiring demo and they, too came in these strage cases. Some of them weren't as old as 9 years, though! Maybe they transitioned these cases out slowly at the time they moved to the newer style cases?! If you advertise here on Buy/Sale/Trade, you can get some newer cases fairly cheaply, as not everyone keeps their stamps in the case they came in! Good luck!

That is the same box my Cuddles and Tickles came in too. The box was so tall that it crushed so easily so had to store it on end!! I got mine off of ebay but it had the SU sticker on the box so it had to be original box I thought.

When I was first introduced to SU! about 1997 I think that was how all my first stamp sets came. There was enough room above the stamps in the box for an ink pad and paper. It wasn't too long after that they started using the shallower boxes-which I love.
