Default Adhesive for Acetate Help!

I made a card in a box for the first time which is displayed in my gallery. I adhered the little bits in the middle of the box to acetate using Tombow liquid glue and adhered that to the paper in the middle of the box. It's been about a week since I made the card (and it will be another week until I give it as a gift) and when I opened it to show my dd, the acetate had fallen off the paper I adhered it to. What is the best no-show adhesive for this acetate?

Glue dots usually work well.

Saw a video by Karen Burniston where she used the red liner tape. You know the one that has the static cling liner. People use it for many 3-D projects also.

Scortape works great or just scotch double sided tape works unless something is heavy.

I've used Scor-Tape. Comes in sizes from 1/8" up to full 8.5 x 11 sheets, lots in between.

ETA - actually it's been on Dura-Lar - clear, similar but not identical. The tape will show a bit so has to be used strategically.

I would use glue dots in the middle of the box for the acetate, making sure the glue dots are small enough not to exceed the outside of the acetate, so that nothing else gets stuck when the box is folded up. If you have larger glue dots, either roll them, or cut them in half, either works.
