Default about being a demo - still get ha sets?

okay - i'm still tossing around the idea of signing up to be a "hobby" demo since i can practically make the minimum amounts all on my own - yikes! anyway - the new winter mini just arrived at my doorstep and the hostess appreciation set is so cute - i must have it! once i am a demo, if i put in my own party order for the $400, do i still earn the ha set even if i am a demo?

does the cost of my kit count towards my own quarterly sales - i mean if it costs me 200, if i sell an additional 200 that quarter (probably to myself!), do i earn the ha set, or must i submit 400 in party sales?

other than the 20% off, are there times you earn other things as a demo?

thanks again for the advice - in advance. being here on scs has made me want to sign up all the more becuase everyone here is so great!

Yes, you will still be eligible for HA sets, but the cost of your kit doesn't apply to your totals. Bummer, I know. It doesn't count toward your upline's totals either.

Oh, just go ahead and sign up. If you are spending a lot yourself, you might as well get the discount. You, like many, might even decide you want to do more. But, that's the beauty of it, you are in control.

Yes, you can get the hostess appreciation sets AS LONG AS you have named yourself as the hostess when you put in the order. If you have 2 orders, each for $200, make sure you are the hostess for both orders and then you will earn the HA set.

No, the kit doesn't count toward your quarterly minimums.

You earn 20% discount, and you will get a check every month from SU depending on your sales. You have the opportunity to "pre-buy" the sets in the minis before your customers get their mini catalogs. I personally love being able to order when I want and have it all delivered to me, instead of having it go to my demo's house and waiting for her to bring it to me.

I know there are other good things to talk about, but my brain is fried after being at work all day.... time for some supper!

Yes. At different times during the year, there are different promotions. Last year, I earned a couple free sets during Sell-a-bration. Lots of people earned Sell-a-bration sets too. Then, in the spring there was a great promotion to earn next year's hostess sets.

There is a "Great Rewards" program all year long. Depending upon your quarterly sales (starting at $1000) you can earn free stuff. For example, if you sell $1000 in a quarter, you could choose metallic pencils. Lots of other choices too.

I would not hestitate for one moment about becoming a demonstrator. I was SO hesitant to sign on, thinking that somewhere, I was going to be disappointed or feel "ripped off". That was totally NOT the case! The product that you receive in your starter kit alone is worth joining for. You get SO much for your money, including FREE shipping! That's worth another $20.00 alone. The monthly magazine is chuck full of ideas for projects as well as good, practical info on how to make the most out of your business whether you are making it a part time job or a full time career. JUST DO IT! Seriously, if you are a die hard stamper, you won't have regrets.

Nope......no free shipping anymore....just an extra 10% off now.
Sorry, but it's the way it is now ~ since Convention.

HTH.

"JUST DO IT" Marni! No regrets here!!!! Signed up in July, and have a recruit already!!

HTH.
I signed up after convention and didn't have to pay shipping on my starter kit. I believe that there is still no shipping charges on the kit, at least in the states

Default I think...

I think QCBetty is referring to your 1st hostess order. You will make 30% commission and have to pay shipping. The old way of doing it was that your 1st workshop got free shipping.

There is NO shipping on your kit. Just the price of the kit plus tax, so YES you are getting free shipping and saving $19.95 (cost if you did have to pay shipping).

Sign UP! It's fun, you save money and can buy more stamps than you could if you were buying from someone else!

Default Free Stuff

For those of you getting ready to sign up, the survey question this month on the STampin' Up! website was related to free stuff. It was asking us demos what we thought of the Spring Into Action period where we can earn free hostess sets from the new catalog based on our sales and recruiting.

There is always something going on. And don't forget if you are entering several orders for friends and combined they make the $150 mark, you will get free stamp sets and free merchandise again!

Being a demo certainly has it's perks!!!!!!!!

I don't know if someone already said this but you also get another check monthly from Stampin UP above your 20% depending on your sales for the previous month.

Yeah, I had forgotten about that rebate check and then got my first one and it was for $75! That sure was a nice bonus because it was unexpected.

If you have EVER considered signing up as a demonstrator, I would highly encourage it. Not only is it nice to get a discount on my personal purchases, but I have had the MOST fun and made some FANTASTIC friends because of this business.

You can make it what you want. PLUS if you find a demo that is offering an incentive on the starter kit, it's an even BETTER deal!

I have enjoyed being a demo, even though for me it is just a hobby. I don't do any workshops but have NO problem whatsoever making my minimums in sales just to myself. I would recommend it to anyone considering it.

I am a hobbist demo too. I make my quota with my friends and myself, no problem.

What I love is representing a company that is so stellar! Stampin' Up! just consistently goes way beyond my expectations in treating their customers and demonstrators like royalty.

Like they have that monthly survey and they really listen to what we say. I know because I made two suggestions and they happened. I am sure other people suggested the same things, but they listened.

Like one of my kids destroyed my Stampin Success, they mailed another one, no questions, no charge! My dog chewed a stamp, they replaced the rubber, no questions, no charge.

I could go on, but I think I have made my point, and I am sure others could do the same.

Go for it, what do you have to lose? If you ever wanted to quit, you could. But you won't!
