Default 40th Birthday saying for Inside of Card.

Hello – My girlfriend is turning 40 next weekend and 6 of us are surprising her with a day in the city, Dinner, a show and some fun extra surprises. I am making a card from all of us. Can anyone give me some suggestions for what I can write in the card other then just a “Happy Birthday” stamp? And if you have any fun ideas for a 40th card, I am also open to those suggestions. Looking forward to all your great ideas. Thanks

I did one for our old neighbor using leaves (since I didn't have a tree stamp at the time), and printed (using the computer): "40 isn't old..." and inside said "...if you're a tree!"

In the past, I have googled birthday greetings and came up with www.birthdaycelebrations.net. I hope that helps.

In case you want to use a poem.....I wrote a little poem for someone who has a friend turning 30 and changed this up to use for someone turning 40.

I hear today you’re turning forty
Oh my, gadzooks, lordy, lordy!

It's okay, don't worry, it happens to all
It's just that you've hit...a sort of, well...wall!

You're young enough to still get frisky
Just don't spend the day with a bottle of whiskey.

Watch yourself and don’t get too crazy
or you might end up a little bit hazy.

Celebrate, have fun and enjoy this day,
I'm so sorry to say, there's more on their way!

10 years later...

I hear today you're turning fifty!
Oh my! Gadzooks! That's really nifty!

Hopefully I will successfully attach my card as a thumbnail.

It was CASEd from one I saw in the card aisle of a grocery store several years ago. I could not find a small mirror so I used some silver reflective paper which photographed very black. If you read the card I think the idea will be obvious even though the photo is not very helpful.

HTH and ...

Happy Crafting!

Cindy, I think I'll just start asking you for ideas. You always come up with the cutest things. I've been saving the poems you write. Hope you don't mind if I use them on my cards....with credit to you, of course. Do you happen to have any good ones for the All Mixed Up stamp set?

How about on the front: Age is just a number
Inside: I guess, yours is unlisted now!

The funniest card I got when I turned 40 had this on the front: Oh no, OH NO, the awful, dreaded F word! And inside of course was the big FORTY! Works for 50 too!

A cute saying for those who think about getting old was written by a teenager in my autograph book when I was just 8 or so. She wrote:

"When you get old and think you're sweet,
Take off your shoes and smell your feet!"

I've used it for several Birthday cards. I made sure that the front was very frilly for the first part of the poem and the inside was funky.
