This week's challenge is to create your own Journal. There are so many different sizes and shapes for journals. You can make your own or buy one in the store to modify. So show me your stuff!
This mini journal is two and three quarter inches square. I put three pieces of white paper inside to make a total of twelve pages.
(With the new policy about uploads on Sunday, I posted this Saturday night so it may or may not be visable until Monday.)
So post here and don't forget to put 3D09 in the keywords on your upload. I will be doing another drawing this week too! I look forward to seeing your journals.

I am working on a tutorial for the mini albums for another SCSer and will post a file here in the next few days. For now, here are some directions without the pictures.
First I took a 12x12 sheet of CS and scored it in half both directions to get 4 squares approximately 6x6 (it is 1/16 of an inch off because SU paper is not really 12x12. Then I cut 4 pieces of white cardstock (or however many you want for pages) at 5 1/2 inches by 11. Fold those in half to make 5 1/2 inch squares. Take the cover piece and fold it in half one way. The pages will fit inside. This gives the cover some extra stiffness. Next, from the center fold marks, I scored the cover and the inside pages 1/2 inch on either side. This makes it easier to open. I use mono to put them together temporarily. Then I used the paper piercing tool from the tool kit to push holes through all the pages...I did only half of the book at a time. I used 2 sets of 4 brads. The back of the brads are at the center of the inside of the book. I took the Sticky Tape and put it in the center of the book where the brad backs were to hold the pages together and hide them. The ribbon can be done several different ways, but I like to hide it between the 2 layers of the cover.
That is really it. If I missed something or you have more questions after reading this, please let me know.
