Happy Birthday, Linda. My birthday is TODAY!

DH took advantage of the Spellbinder's recent offer (buy one set of dies, get $50 bundle free), bought me the ribbon & bow dies, and I am THRILLED with all the freebies- no duplicates of anything I already had! All were nice dies or embossing folders, and nothing there that I wouldn't use.

I love when Spellbinders does that- the last time I was happy with the $50 free bundle, too.

LOL! Hi Vicki! I'm having a fun day, running around using my free birthday offers! Today was a Grand Slam at Denny's, & a donut & coffee at Krispy Kreme.

And everywhere I went today, the closest parking space opened up for me (it's windy & cold, and overcast today), so it was birthday Karma. I even got a call from Social Security about my pending retirement, so I didn't have to try again to return their last call- trust me, you do not want to have to call Social Security. Yesterday, I called and held for 45 minutes, it rang once, then disconnected. So, I called back, chose the option of having THEM return MY call, and when I got the callback- it wasn't the office I needed to speak to, and the office I needed to speak to was CLOSED (by like 15 minutes). Can you say FRUSTRATED???

Today is MUCH better. Found a wonderful deal on some ham we love at Costco, they also had eggs 18 count for 1.99, deals on Ziplocs. I'm a happy shopper. And everybody has responded to my Birthday Girl light up shirt. It's just been a great day- even got off work early.

Yup, birthday Karma.

What website was the Spellbinder's freebie offer on? Is it still going on? And how did you find out about it in advance?

I might need to check it out.

It was on Spellbinder's web site- I signed up for emails. That deal is now over, but they have one going through today that's buy $50 worth, and get a free $50 bundle. Use code 50BONUS.

It's worth being on their email list- they have some great offers.

Yes, and by this time of year in the Northeast, our Vitamin D levels are running quite low!

BRING ON THE SUN! (Just not too, too much! My skin doesn't handle it too well, and the heat would cause enough hot flashes to incinerate the world!)

We could use some sunny days in MN too! It has been warmer than usual and gloomier than normal. We need a very cold snap to bring back the beautiful blue winter skies. I know you might think I have lost it. However, when it is very cold the skies have bluer than in the summer.

Well, y'all just come on down to Wichita! It's sunny here, and relatively warm (for winter, in Kansas)- forecast is mid 60s, partly cloudy- but it sure is sunny here now. DH was worried that the plastic container on the table with candy bars in it might get too warm and cause the chocolate to melt.

Vicki- COOKIES? I still haven't baked cookies. I'll be playing games with friends this afternoon, and celebrating my birthday (from last week). Kate is going to make Canadian butter tarts for dessert- YUM! (I got to pick the menu- pork roast, baked potatoes, oriental slaw, layered salad, broccoli salad, and butter tarts). And I don't have to bring a dish- it's my celebration. Not that it would stop me from bringing something if I was feeling like cooking, but I still have 2 loveseats, an entertainment center, and a corner cupboard in the kitchen. Sigh- we have the SLOWEST installer of wood flooring n the history of mankind working for us. He's a nice guy, he came cheap, he appears to be doing a good job- BUT in 5 working days, he's finished the stairs to the basement and about a foot of flooring across the living room. (Yes, I understand the stairs take more time than anything else) I just want the job finished, so I can actually walk through the kitchen again. (It's going to be gorgeous in the living room with new hardwood floors)

Oh, almost forgot! I finally got the stamps from the friend of a friend. 7 SU sets, and a number of individual stamps, blank cards, roller stamps & handle, a bunch of stampables (like bookmarks, note cards, etc.), a couple ink pads, paper crimper, sponge daubers, etc.

I will try to sort out some things to offer up here, probably around the first of the week. I know for sure there are a couple of stamps I won't use.

Fairly early on in the game of "Surge World," my husband got up in the middle of the night to open the window to let in some cool air. I told him "if there was any heat-seeking missiles around, we were gonna be dead!"

As much as I would LOVE to be able to think the yummy cookies would do the trick (I have a very sweet tooth), most times treats like that bring on the power-- as does hand cream (you sweat a lot through your hands so it has to come out somewhere), wet hair (you typically lose a lot of heat through your head). And, of course, also hot and/or humid weather.

I think we all have our good days and bad days. I know I do. Fibromyalgia is not a pleasant thing to deal with. No, I am not at the foundation every day. I go when I can and for the amount of time that I can... but first and foremost, I TRY to listen to my body and what it is capable of on any particular day.

Hang in there sweetie, you got this!

Hi there! A quick question. Is anyone actually interested in "paying it forward" anymore? I see very little PIF activity here lately, although it's nice that so many have become friends and are having such a lovely conversation. If there is no more real interest in Paying It Forward, I'm going to ask Lydia to change the title of the thread so that it won't be confusing to other members who might be interested in PIFs. That is, after all, what the original purpose of the thread was when I started it several years ago. Thanks.

I hope this thread stays - I love having a way to send items to a new loving home. I just was too busy through the holidays and then some unfortunate family issues in January, but was planning on posting some items here in the near future.

I agree that it goes in streaks. Since it's not like the other PIF threads that require an immediate offer, it might take a while for somebody to post an offer. I'd really like it to stay the way it is. Right now we're in the middle of having hardwood flooring laid in the living room & hall (by the slowest installer in the UNIVERSE), so I really can't bring things out to dig through them to offer. I do plan on offering some stuff when I actually have my house to myself again. I also agree with Hotwheels that January is a tight month for a lot of people, and being able to afford the shipping costs can limit what a person can offer. I vote we leave it as is.

I have the following that are looking for a new home in the US:

Sizzlets BBQ Tools
Sizzlets Phrase, BBQ

These are the little dies-about 2" square

You can google those names to see what they are
