1/2" circle punch not working
Hi!
I have the SU! 1/2" circle punch for a little over 2 months. It is unusable now. It keeps getting jammed, and now it has gotten stuck so bad I can hardly get it to release at all.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Cheryl

If you can get it to un-stick, try punching it through wax paper a few times. It works really well!
Hope it helps

Hi,
Maybe you should send it back and get a new one? I bought the small corner rounder punch and the handle was loose and wiggly...it kept getting jammed. I sent it back - no problem - and there was definately something wrong with it, the new one works like a charm! I just peeked at the catty and I'm assuming it's the same type of handle as the corner rounder punch. Why fight with your stuff, send it back! :^)

Call your demo and have her arrange it. I had to return a punch once myself, and they replaced it, no questions! SU is really good about that.

Do you stamp it through waxed paper or aluminum foil? I thought the a.f. would "sharpen" it.... ??

WOW
Thanks everyone! Guess what? It works! YAAAAY!
It was jammed so badly I had a really tough time releasing it. I thought I was going to completely break it with the amount of pressure it needed. I finally got it, and put it through the wax paper. Well, the wax paper kept getting stuck with it, but I kept repeating it and now the punch is fixed! Unbelievable what the wax did! It doesn't stick at all now, and the handle is in place like it should be.
Time to make some little pieces....

If it jams again, try sticking it in the freezer for a while to get it to let loose.

I run all my punches through aluminum foil followed by waxed paper before I use them- keep them working well!
Glad you got yours working!

I do this too, the foil sharpens the edges, the wax paper makes slide more easily!

Yup, I too had problems like this when I was using mine to make product charts. I actually BROKE the handle on mine! Can you believe that? Anyway, SU! sent me a new one...because they are the best about that sort of thing.
