*spin-off* Which colour would you sacrifice to save Cool Caribbean?
Hypothetically speaking, of course  but you never know who's reading  ...
In another thread we were discussing which colour we would be happy to give up if we could save (almost) everybody's favourite In Color, Cool Caribbean.
I scribbled down all the nominated colours, but there were too many for the poll, so I've chosen the nine most popular (or should that be unpopular?) choices for the poll, to leave you the option of "other".
Eagle-eyed readers will notice that Ruby Red and Really Rust were given the same number of votes in the other thread as some of the colours listed here, but there wasn't room for them, Cool Caribbean wouldn't really fit in Earth Elements and, apart from anything else, I love them!
Surprise, surprise, I voted Glorious Green, it's horrible and what it is doing in Bold Brights I do not know. I used it for the first time on the Ways to Use it challenge and before that I didn't even register it as a color. Bold Brights is my least favorite color family anyway, but if Cool Caribbean was in BB it may become my favorite! ;) I only like Temting Turquoise,Pixie Pink, Gable Green, Only Orange and Lovely Lilac in the Bold Brights at the moment.
I hate, hate, hate orchid opulence. Glorious green...well, not a favorite either, that is for sure. The problem is, tastes are so varied here, and one person's most hated is another person's most loved!
I don't envy the folks at SU! who make these decisions. No matter what they do, people get upset. So I imagine the decision making is all by the numbers.
But it sure is fun to play armchair product line designer! Thanks for the poll, Bagpuss!
I voted for Orchid Opulence as I never use it. Another color I don't use and don't really like is Going Grey. The color just doesn't appeal to me. I wish SU would come out with a Charcoal Grey. I scrapbook, so I do use Glorious Green a bit for matting or on wheels (especially for outdoor pages).

I voted for Bordering Blue. Boring Blahhhh!! I never use it.
All the blues are extremely Boring IMO... I have boys and when I am making a page there are just not enough options in the Blue family..
Can't see Glorious Green Going.. What would we use then for our traditional Christmas Cards with out this Primary Color..
I use Blush Blossom for skin color and it is so perfect for that. I would hate to lose it. Bordering Blue is great for coloring bluejeans, etc. It is very close to Buckaroo Blue so if it had to go I would hope Buckaroo Blue would replace it.
It doesn't list "none" as a selection choice. I like the traditional 48 we have. I don't want to sacrifice any to save any of the in-colors.
Just my personal preference! I am happy with the color families as is!! :p
If there isn't an option for you, there's an option to view the results without voting. This is a spin-off of the "Let's Keep Cool Carribean and leave out another color!" thread, so it's kind of assumed that you'd be willing to sacrifice one.
I really don't use Glorious Green at all....hence this week's Way's to Use it Challenge. So that is what I put....I would LOVE them to swap it! Anything to save my gorgeous Cool Caribbean!!!!!

I've never use Glorious Green in a Christmas card yet! LOL
Glorious Green has not been so glorious for my taste. But Cool Carribean is definitely cool!

Please, no more Cool Caribbean! It's pretty but SU choices lean heavily to blues and purples as it is and we do no need another blue in the permanent collection. We need six new, limited time colors to play with for a year then six more in '08 then six more in 09 . . .

This is actually why I voted for bordering blue. I think SU has enough blue colors, but I would prefer cool caribbean over bordering blue anyday. In fact, bordering blue is the only ink pad I don't have in the regals family. I rarely use it and don't like it, it's just not very exciting IMO.
I almost voted for Orchid Opulence for the same reason, I think SU has enough purples. And as for bravo burgundy, I want SU to change it, not get rid of it. We still need a burgundy, but I like to see a little more red in it, like there used to be.
And I like glorious green, don't get rid of it!

I totally agree with Lutheran! (* slinking back for posting again in this thread, I couldn't help it.......) I love that SU! is trying to be more current by having 2 catalogs per year adn 6 new colors each year. I bet all the Cool Varribean lovers are gonna fall for one of the In-Color 07-08 colors just as hard.

Just a thought for the 19 people willing to give up their Yoyo Yellow: what will you use to clean the ink off your stained stamps? Isn't Yoyo Yellow the miracle cleaner?
The only color I don't like out of all of the choices is Glorious Green. But if, hypothetically, Cool Carribbean was added as a regular color, wouldn't they most likely use it to replace a similar color rather than, say, Apricot or Orchid which aren't even close to CC? That is just my guess, but who knows what the Powers-that-be have in mind? We'll just have to wait and see.
I picked orchid opulence but I would be fine if Glorious Green went away too. It's not so glorious

I made it! Dec 2006-July 2007!
My nonstamping, weight-loss blog sort of.

I totally agree with this. I think that everyone is fooling themselves if they think that SU is going to back off of their original intent for the In Color line by making one or all of the colors permanent. They have made it very clear that those colors are for one year only. As much as I love CC I can't wait for the new 08 in colors in July! I am sure that everyone will love them just as much if not more than the 07 colors!

I think that blush blossom should be moved into the neutrals (I do use if for skin color, but that is about it!) and cool carribean can take it's place in soft subtles, what do y'all think about that?

Wow! It's amazing that Glorious Green is in the lead right now. I don't know what I would do without that color. I mainly scrapbook right now and I have little boys that I use that color with. It's one of the major Primary colors!!
Now, I could live without Bordering Blue because we have so many other blues that are close in color.
