A*Muse Oval Stamps for "grounding" images!
HELP! It's driving me crazy! Good 'ol AmyR uses them all the time and, quite frankly, I wanna be like her when I grow up so I WANT them!
I see a "skinny large oval" and a "skinny small oval" on their website. Are these them? If so, I'll be faxing my order TODAY! AmyR says she uses the small and large ovals by A*Muse, I'm really hoping that they are the ones on their site currently and not some retired thing!
Here AmyR uses the small one: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I just got these on Saturday. I had to have them too after all the wonderous samples I've seen. They definitely add that needed depth to almost any card. I'm amazed how well Amy masked the images in her samples. I just tried stamping it over the feet on my first few cards because the shoes were dark enough that you couldn't tell.

Order FAXED....stamper anxiously awaiting ovals! No more weird Stickles "lakes" in an attempt to ground an image. I wanna be like AmyR when I grow up! I wish she didn't live so far away, I wanna play!
(Now AMY on the other hand is probably VERY glad she lives in Canada about now!)
YES BOTH the ovals I use are the one's mentioned and I got both of them directly from their Seattle store (called 'em and gave the gal my order - she was really nice too! The *only* thing that got me was the shipping - it was a LOT! But so worth it b/c I (obviously) use those ovals on everything!!! )
I was in a pinch the other day and "NEEDED" an oval...they do look cool! I remembered that the pad under my computer keyboard kept coming loose and was an oval...so, I snagged it and mounted it on ez cling. It was the perfect size!!
I'm in the UK and it is very difficult to get A Muse over here and I got these from ebay for a very reasonable price. I just never remember to use them, lol!

You're right - the oval in that one looks almost the same - I just wonder what size it is IRL (compares to the 2 a*muse ones?)?? (one can never have too many ovals I think!! ;) )
I also have the Stampendous Geo Shapes and the oval measures 2 1/2 inches by 5/8 inches. It's a pretty good, universal size. I used it on on this card here (which is an A7 sized card) so maybe that will help give a better idea of scale.
I am thinking of investing in the A*Muse ovals myself. I'm with Amy... there's no such thing as too many. LOL
For those that have no access to either brand of ovals, you can always mask your own oval! Just freehand an oval in any size or proportion you want! Then carefully cut it out, and use the negative area as your template and sponge the color on to your project. Make sure you get a good, heavy ink coverage, so it will look more like the oval was actually stamped rather than sponged. Of course this process takes a bit longer than just stamping it does, but for those who don't have quick access to the stamps, this is one way to get a very similar look. ;) Hope it helps someone!

I don't have a fax which is why I buy my AMuse stamps from other retailers... but I have the hardest time finding the ovals... and I need them!
Actually you can just call the Seattle store (their number is on the a*muse homepage and there is a toll-free one) and tell them which ones you want and they will ship them to you. That's how I got mine!!

You can just CALL them and place an order! No need for a FAX! I only have a FAX because I do bookeeping parttime for a friend and she likes to FAX me stuff! It's not always plugged in because I won't have a dedicated line for it.
With all of those Bellas you're ordering, yes, you DO need the ovals! I've come up with a new name for AmyR. AmyEnablabella!
If you're gonna get one, you might as well get the other!
They are *really* great!
And, check out the scallop oval background (solid), too . . . It, too, is a staple in my shadow/background stamp collection!
Of course you had to pipe up   It's all your fault I got those ovals in the first place!!! Now a scalloped oval.........;)

The other alternative for those of you who can't wait is to cut and oval using your colluzel or punch one with a punch. Then cut it longs ways in half and scoot it close togethr. Tape it together and sponge through it. Now you can have ovals any size you want...for free! LOL!

Oh...you guys are terrible! I've been eyeing those ovals and now look what you did!?! Got me thinking about wanting one/both now. And a scalloped oval!!! I've gotta see.
I had my lss order them both for me A Muse has a very small minimum for stores, so it shouldn't be too be a problem for your lss to order the ovals (if they already carry A*Muse stamps).
Yes, Ms. JulieHRR is the reason I now have BOTH the bigshot and the cuttlebug sitting here in front of me fighting for my attention. She doesn't even have the cuttlebug anymore but I had to have it 'cause of what she said about it! I don't need both but, the darn bug was soooo cute (and that coveted green color. I won't say the color word... *celery* Oops! It just slipped out.* - off to buy the ovals...maybe. Oh what the heck! I might as well get it over with. LOL! Are you still there Julie??? Are YOU??? I was so scared to read her CHA blog. I could feel my wallet getting lighter.

If it is of any comfort--I did buy a Cuttlebug, too, when the 50% off coupon code worked at JoAnn . . . just so I could test it out . . . and, because it was celery . . . and cute like a purse . . . (giggling!) but, in the end, the BS was the better machine for my bum arm/hand . . . now, if I could figure out a way to spray paint it celery, life would be perfect. snort!

You know - here ppl are calling ME a total enabler - when really Julie it is ALL your fault. It all stems back to you ya know!!! ;) (Heck when I called a*muse I had said (jokingly) that it was all your fault that I was ordering, and the gal laughed and said "Yeah, we blame Julie for a lot of that." !!!!!!!!!) So there!!!

Julie,
I read your blog every time you update. I read everything about your decision to give up the bug but that didn't stop me! Nope, I bought it anyway 'cause you had to go and say it was celery!
But on a serious note, and this is to everyone:
We have to thank Julie because, even tho' she brings these things to our attention,(Julie = enabler), she always gives us and honest review, (Julie = educator), and we are very thankful for that! (Us = appreciators!)
Thanks Julie. Oh, and BTW, did my eyesight get worse or were you whispering to me! LOL!

Yessum, I wuz whisperin' . . . I couldn't believe I bought the CB after I already had the BS sitting right there . . . Did I *need* another machine? NooOOOOooooo!!!
But . . . well . . . if you have a 50% off coupon code that works, how can a girl just walk away from a deal like that I ask you????? It was just to try it out back at the lab . . . product testing, and whatnot . . . UKWIM? Totally justified. Right?

My reason, I have to admit, is that I was asked to teach a class on the cuttlebug. LOL! That would be something for me to teach it when I didn't even have it! LOL!! So, I thought I'd better get one so I'd know what I was talking about. KWIM?
I have to say, I'm growing quite fond of the little "bug"-ger. I did use that 50% off coupon too! Thanks for playing along!
