My expression looks about like the cat's. This will be one to watch and see if anyone buys it. I love all my stamp sets... but not enough to pay that much for one of them.
"Stampin Up Spooky Spells ~ Discontinued and ULTRA RARE ~ There is not another one of these stamp sets anywhere. I have only seen 5 sets in 10 years. This set could have been purchased in the last 6 months when the price was $89.95 to $349.95. Now that there are no more sets anywhere the price has gone up considerably. All of the stamps have mild to moderate staining on them."

Unreal! I have this stamp set too and had no idea how much it was worth. I better make sure my husband knows if anything happens to me NOT to throw out my stamps!
I searched for completed auctions of this stamp set on Ebay. The last set sold went for $81.99. There are few auctions in the "hundreds" that did not sell and received no bids. I'm not sure the seller gets the concept of "supply AND DEMAND".
Just because there are few ( or no others ) available for the supply side; does not automatically mean the DEMAND will be such that a seller can request such a ridiculous price for the item.
And for myself, personally, I feel the artwork is such a dated style I would not pay $9.95 for that set. But hey, different strokes....
No Way!!!! That stamp set isn't THAT good!..but I guess it is worth a try to ask $995. You never know...a fool and his money are a great party as the saying goes! LOL
So if 2 people on this thread alone own this set is it really all that rare? Maybe there have only been a handful on EBay but that certainly isn't a good representation of the general population. Good luck with that. Lol.
So far three people on here have it. I wonder how she did her research to find out that there are so few of them. Maybe she just made up her statistics on it.

Sheesh, it would only cost me another $260 in import duty!! $32 shipping pales into insignificance beside that. I think my last SU eBay purchase was less than $32 including shipping. But only because I didn't go for some of the $40+ Buy It Now offers but waited and waited till I got a good auction price - $15 .
Got the set a year or 2 ago Mint condition for 25.00 plus SH I had wanted it for years SU retired it way before I began stamping. So glad I got it then!!! I think SU missed the mark with the Best of sets and should have brought back some of the Ebay high Sellers....

I dont' even remember that set, so I figured it was not very popular here (as proven with the gallery search). If it wasn't popular here it is not a worthy set to sell at auction for more than the original value IMHO. Sure there will be someone who will buy it for 2x that but really...
As for SU bringing back the high ebay sellers I couldn't agree more. I have been a bit disappointed with the stamps they brought back or I had them all.
someone post if this sold I will forget to check ;)
What's even funnier about the listing is that it was listed for $349.95 and had no bids, so when the auction ended, she relisted it at an even higher price!!!
Funny I see this thread now because I just saw 2 people are looking for it in the ISO threads here and I posted about it being for sale for $995.
I've been watching that auction for weeks. The seller thinks everyone watching it is interested it in and they keep raising the price....LOL I'm just watching it to be nosey.
WOW! I took a look in my archived stamps and lo and behold ! actually have this set! After looking at it I don't think that it was ever even used? Perhaps I should put it on ebay and ask 500.00 just for some amusement. Honestly, I could never see trying to rip people off like that!!
Wow! I don't shop eBay but is there anyway you could post a comment about it there? I don't think anyone would pay that but still it seems like false advertising to me.
I wonder if there is a list available-with each set and # of those sold?
If you are referring to Ebay.....after you search for the set and this ridiculous auction comes up; on the left side of the window you can refine your search.
I checked the box for Completed Listings. That's how I got the information in my post further up thread. I don't believe this gives you the complete history of this ( or any ) set sold on Ebay since "forever"...not sure how far back it goes. But you can see previous listings; if it sold the price will show in green, if it did not the price shows in red.
I always check completed listings before putting anything of mine out there for auction. Gives me a good idea of what people are willing to pay and if it's a popular set or not. If I see a bunch of sets that were listed but didn't even sell I most often won't bother.
This still just blows my mind! I was looking again at the write up and it certainly appears to me to be false claims. Since I am not registered on ebay, I can't click on ask a question, but if I could, I would ask how they can make a claim like that when we know of at least three sets people own on here! This is the claim that is false: There is not another one of these stamp sets anywhere
Kathy- I'm in a mood this afternoon so since I have an e-bay account, I asked the seller how they could make that claim since there are 2 other listings for that set on e-bay.
Yay....I'd be interested in hearing the response. Especially since the actual claim is that "There is not another one of these stamp sets anywhere". That statement alone is just not true.
