Default Zig Painty question

I have a friend who wants to make a scrapbook to use at her wedding reception. People will take Polaroids of themselves, and then add their picture to the scrapbook and write a note beside it. She wants to use black pages and have the messages written with a metallic pen. Will the Zig Painty work for this? I've never used one, so am relatively unfamiliar with them except that they are in the SU catty, and I've seen various posts here that mention them. Any input? Will this work, or is there something better suited?

The Zig painty markers can smell if you are not used to them.

I personally would suggest that you get a few silver sharpies and go with that. Easier to use (no pressing down on the tip to release the ink) and will smell less. I dont know if Sharpie makes gold ones yet, but I think Crayola makes gold and silver markers.

I have never used the zig painty, but I have seen archival save gold and silver pens in many craft stores. What a cute idea!

I wouldn't use the Zig Painty pen for this. I have one and it's really sort of hard to write with. If you don't hold it just right paint tends to splatter. Also, if you aren't printing it gets messy. I'd use a sharpie or how about those metallic gel pens?

Thanks, ladies! We'll skip the Painty and go with one of those others. You've been a great help!

Default try a galaxy marker

American Crafts makes "Galaxy Markers" which are made to write on dark paper. They work GREAT! The have silver and gold as well as a few other metallic colors. I have never been disappointed with them on any project, much more reliable than the "Painty" marker for dark paper.

Thanks for the tip on the Galaxy Markers. That's one I'll be sure to check a local store for!

The white gel pen I use when I do Pergamano is a Staedtler and I found it to be the best. It doesn't skip and has nice coverage...and I'm doing this on vellum. HTH

Thanks, Grace, I know that is one I've seen in stores. I'll keep it in mind.
