Your beloved old stamps...
All right, here we go.
On another thread we have been talking about how stamping has evolved over the years and years and years that we have been stamping...and somehow got a wee bit sidetracked onto older stamps and how the designs often come back, or the company that has been out of business for ages has super popular stamps even today.
So.
Here's your challenge:
...You all have old stamps that you love and wouldn't get rid of. (or maybe you did and you regret it)
...HOWEVER those companies are long gone.
What lost stamp companies do you have in your collection?
Here's some of mine:
...Acey Deucy
...Azadi Earles
...Comotion
...Judikins
...K K Originals
...Personal Stamp Exchange

I have a really neat fish stamp from Bizzaro. I used it recently here:
Party Fish by howdyheidi - at Splitcoaststampers
I have a lovely Mistletoe stamp from PSX that someone RAKed me!
Is All Night Media still around? I have a Beatrix Potter set from them I have had since I was young.
And I do have VERY old retired stamps from Hero Arts as well as old stamps from companies that are still selling the stamps. And a few that I cannot read the name anymore.

Elzybells
Sarah Kay Stamps
Whiff of Joy Stamps
95% of my Stampin Up stamps are long retired, but will probably keep them forever

Forgot about Whiff of Joy. I also have long-retired Stampingbella Ketto stamps that I still love. Sometimes a line retires, rather than the entire company...

Judikins is still around-TG as they make my fav embossing powder. I just bought some. Here is the link-the store is on the left side.
JudiKins Catalog
Flourishes came back-- I think last year?? I had some issues with my orders with them so I stopped. I dont know what's up now.
Unfortunately I think most of mine are images which means I dont have a list of them.....and I dont bother remembering that usually....I know I have
PSX,
Azadi Earles,
Outlines,
All night media
Stamps Happen
Stampa Rosa
Verve Closed? Then Verve...
Raising hand for a lot of stamps from current companies that are discontinued...since I haunt clearance bins...
And some companies have been around a long time like House Mouse-I think they are over 20 years old right? I have some old ones from them....

I had a big collection of Posh Impressions and I had to throw out all the two step ones last time I sorted stuff. The rubber on the foam mounts cracked big time, not useable anymore. Wood mount ones are OK. It was hard to part with some really old stuff but if I'm not going to use it, it had to go. I don't have space for a stamp museum, unfortunately.

Rubber Stampede and their Peanuts stamps, sigh...
I also still like and use my old Flourishes stamps, have plenty of Verve and some PSX. Michael Powell used to have a range in association with Design Objectives, but alas now he only does counted crossstitch designs.
Rubber Romance.
She's still around but with a different style of stamps: StarvingArtistamps...and there's another company I'm trying to think of that I got a few plates of rubber stamps from.

Cornish Heritage Farms. I pulled out my gingham backgrounder last week for the first time in ages and gave a little sad sigh! I have almost all my old CHF stamps though.
Waltzingmouse Stamps. I know some of the designs are now available from Gina K but I miss the company and Claire’s relentlessly upbeat customer service (as well as the fact it was UK shipping!). Possibly my all-time favourite flower stamp is in the WMS Roses in Bloom set and that had retired even before the company folded.

I started stamping when couples had tiny home companies sometimes in rural towns. The wife was often the artist and the husband had a vulcannizer in the shed. I bought PSX when it was in Petaluma. Sue and Diane mentioned a lot of them. Others that haven’t been mentioned are:
River City Rubber Works
Dolphin Song
TooMuch Fun
Remarkable
Graven Images
100 Proof Press
Character Constructions
Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers
A Stamp in the Hand (maybe still sells at Carson City Convention)
Rubber Stamps of America
Addicted to Rubber Stamps
Zettiology
I gave away tons years ago when I moved. I wish I had them back.
There was a woman in Berkeley who had what sounded like two last names as her company logo. She stored all her stamps in a big bathtub and when you ordered it would take awhile for her to dig through and fill your order.
I also love Fred Mullett, not out of business but obscure. He still sells online out of his home but no longer teaches at LSS’s. He’s a nature print artist also. I have most of his stamps. His fish are works of art and I have all his vegetable stamps. He actually presses real fish into his stamps to duplicate the scale texture. Beautiful stuff. He also sells this thing called the Big Ugly Stamp Positioner for using with wood mounted stamps. He’s kind of a character.

I have so many from the companies already listed: Azadi Earles, All Night Media, Bizzaro, Comotion, Cornish Heritage Farms, Elzybells, Mostly Animals, PSX, Printworks, Rubber Stampede, Stampa Rosa, Stamps Happen, Too Much Fun, Uptown, Verve and also stamps from: The Cottage Stamper, DJ Inkers [only digis now], Imaginations, Our Craft Lounge, Stampassions, Stamp of Excellence, Will 'n Way, Yvonne Albritton. Stamping for more than 30 years now so have tons of older stamps.

Goodness, I have never even heard of some of those companies. I started stamping in 2004 but signed up with SU in 2005 and pretty much stopped paying attention to other companies. Unless a company sold at a large box store, i wasn’t likely to encounter them either.
Verve is the first company I’ve lost. Maybe she will collaborate with another company once her kids are grown. (Thinking hopeful thoughts here! Lol)

PSX (I also still have a TON of their embossing powder!)
Stamps Happen
Rubber Stampede
Stampa Rosa
Magenta (are they still around?)
On the embossing powders, I also have several colors of the ones from Comotion 'Orbitz'. Remember them? Crazy named colors in flying saucer shaped jars? Very pretty but oh so hard to store! I have 12 JARS with all the colors...Remember, Twinkle Glass Slipper, Essence of Monet, Hearts Ablaze, Etched Glass? Yep, I got 'em. Still use them from time to time too.
I still have almost nearly every issue of The Rubber Stamper magazine. Boy, do I miss them!
Great thread!!

Magenta is still around. Actually they have a new online catalog coming out in a few days. I saw a preview of it and they have some really nice stuff, including some great sentiments in different sizes. They do foam mounted now too.

Some of you have mentioned specific stamps you have used recently and I am wondering for others, do you have specific favorites of your old stamps.
If you have a card in the gallery, I would love to see creations using your older stamps!

Oh my, this is definitely a walk down memory lane! I have nearly all of the companies already mentioned but here are some more (but by no means all of them) that I have:
Coronado Island Stamping, Delafield, Diamonds, Embossing Arts, Ink-A-Dink-A-Do, Ken Brown Stamps, Lasting Impressions With Panache, Leavenworth Jackson, Love You To Bits, Mostly Animals, Non-Sequitur, Rubber Tree Stamps, Ruby Red Rubber, Stamp Francisco, Stampa Barbara (used to be THE stamp mecca!), Stampington & Co., Stampourri, Starving Artistamps, Sweet Impressions, The Artist Stamps, The Missing Stamp Link, The Moon Rose, and many more!
Wavejumper, thank you for providing the link to Judikins' store. I LOVE Judikins' Translucent Gold e.p. and I need to find a way to buy some more without paying more for mailing than the product.

You are listing so many stamp companies I have never heard of. On another side-track, are there stamp companies that you use that are little known now? I am always finding odd references in the Splitcoast threads to stamp companies I have not heard of.

There are so many listed here I'd forgotten about. Coronado Island- I have some gorgeous wolf stamps by them.
PSX- of course, probably the most loved stamp company, I think.
All night Media I remember, also Whispers and Anita's. Did Vamp Stamp vanish too?

Leavenworth Jackson, that’s the Berkeley lady who stored all her stamps in the bathtub. Wonder if she still sells stamps.
Great list. All Night Media had so many great stamps too.

Cornish Heritage Farms--LOVED their Thomas Kinkaid Stamps! I was never able to get all the ones I wanted.
Rubber Stampede- Peanuts Stamps
Magenta- I think they've changed their designs so drastically from what they had been, it's like they aren't the same company! LOL
I see in a post above- Stampington & Co. - Didn't know they were gone either!
Addicted to Rubber Stamps
I'm SURE there are more...... Just can't think of them right now.
Let me just ask, is this craft fading away? The stores aren't as filled with Paper Craft Goodness as before.

Beeswax Stamps
Bloom Art Stamps - she’s recently moved the shop over to Etsy so the “shop” link on the Bloom Arts menu will take you over there
Serendipity Stamps
are all people I’ve dealt with and don’t seem to have a high profile. They each have some lovely stamps in styles not necessarily available elsewhere. Shout if you want me to hook you up with some samples of things I’ve done with their stamps.

I have many many stamps that are retired but the companies are still around.
Ones that are not around include
PSX
Flourishes
Stamp Camp
Rubber Stampede
River City Rubber Works
Bugawumps
Bugawumps had a dragonfly image that I like enough to buy in more than one size! Here's one of many cards I made with it: bright bamboo by happy-stamper - at Splitcoaststampers

One of the ones I miss the most is River City Rubber Works. They had a line called the Dilettante Collection that was the most amazing collection of sentiment stamps by Kay Foley - I wish I'd bought more of them before they disappeared.
I still have some old PSX and All Night Media stamps, and this thread inspired me to get one of my oldest stamps out to make a card today for the AAA Card Challenge "Imagine". Here it is if you want to take a look:

I was a bit late to the stamping game– started with Stampin' Up! about 15 years ago–so I missed out on some of these cool stamp companies. But about a year ago I heard that Stampsmith was going out of business. She sold on Etsy and was known for her stamps made from photographs. I bought a bunch of rubber stamps on a sheet that captured old Hollywood publicity stills. I cannot tell you the thrill it is to stamp with those as a classic film nut! Spencer Tracy, Clark Gable, Katherine Hepburn…

I have many of the ones already mentioned...some companies are now with other larger stamp companies..like Acey Deucy stamps can be found at Stampington (might be under the artist's name Lynn Perella), Character Constructions is still in business. I have a few cute Claudia Rose (bought at stamp shows way back in the 90's)..her designs are with Rubbermoon.
Anyone have any Portfolio stamps? I have 5 or 6 of them...love them but probably half of them have gotten hard and can't be used...
Oh and I have a bunch of Just Johanna's Odd Bird Planet (they first sold under Just Johanna)...a lot of owl images..super cute but no longer in biz...

Like someone else mentioned, I have hardly heard of any of these! I have been a StampinUp user from the get go and have 95% SU. I think that’s partly because I am not an internet shopper even yet, and haven’t had a LSS nearby to expand my supply base.
Someone said Our Daily Bread stamps... I do have 3 of those sets, have they closed up business?

Outlines (I'm obsessed)
PSX
River City Rubber Works (C'mon on, they were LOCAL- I used to be able to go to the barn!)
Hanna Stamps (although I lost my taste for them due to the owner's behavior)
Diamonds (I bought a CD of the designs from the owner on Ebay- much cheaper than trying to score the wood mounteds on Ebay!)
Stampa Rosa (the K-rens)
Stamp La Jolla (I am NUTS about the bunnies- Dust Bunnies is my FAV!!!)
I see Addicted To Rubber Stamps mentioned, but as far as I ever knew, they were an online retailer. I don't know of any stamps that were their own designs, they just sold other companies" stamps. That said, I miss them. I bought TONS of stuff from them.
There was also a guy from England that I bought unmounted grey rubber stamps from- lots of Celtic designs. I think his name was Simon.
And a craft show seller I used to buy from WAY back, in Michigan- Prints Charming.
Oh! One more, a brick & mortar store in Traverse City MI called Custer's Last Stamp. I'm pretty sure I got my M&M stamp there. Now, if I could only find a Peanut M&M to go with...
