My avitar is me and my little boys. I have changed out my pic already, but kept all 3 of us in it. Next one will have to be one of me and my DH. I like it when we see the actual person, it's neat to put a face with the lovely cards or comments!

It's me. One of my big disappointments is when people change their avatars. I come to recognize so many of my friends by picture and don't even need to see their name. Then they go and change their avatar that has nothing to do with themselves and I feel lost for while.

Yes, that's me.
But, I am actually *much* shorter than I appear in that photo!
At 5' very nearly 2", I am considered the Amazon of the women in my family.
(chuckle) . . .

Julie, I'd be happy to have made it to 5" very nearly 2". I once lied on my drivers licence and said I was 5'. I felt so guilty for 5 years that I had to put the real number there the next time!

Okay. Another avatar pic story.
So the other day, my 10 year old son is looking over my shoulder and sees my avatar, which is taken from a family photo from June '06. Pretty recent, right? He says, "Mom, that picture is old. You need to put a new picture up." I say, "It's not old. I still look like that, don't you think?" Mind you, it's 7 something a.m., still in my p.j.s, my hair is a ratty mess, I have smudges from the previous day's makeup under my eyes; you get the not-so-pretty picture. "Well, your hair is different." "No it isn't." Then, he says, "I mean, you look better now."
I had to laugh. Needless to say, he is a total con man and I have my hands full!

Omigosh, Jeanne, this made me laugh until I cried. Too funny.
My avatar is my son on his first day of kindergarten and me. I never get pictures taken either, but this day I actually did my hair and put on a little makeup knowing we'd be whipping out the camera.

Okay sad story. Mine is of my 15 yr old Siberian Husky that got very sick about 4 weeks ago and we had to put her to sleep about 3 weeks ago!!! I just can't take it off yet. We rescued her about 2 1/2 years ago and fell very much in love with her. We knew we would lose her fairly soon but not like we did. She was quite thin when we got her so the vet said to give her what she wants to eat. She wasn't a big eater but we found things that she liked. So about 4 weeks ago my fiancee' gave her some peanut butter. They would share sometimes (okay, that would gross me out!!!!). Anyway we had some of the Great Value Peanut butter and we had the lot # that was contaminated samonella tainted. Of couse this all came down prior to it coming out in the paper, so my vet (who is awesome!!) had no clue to test for samonella. By the time it came out she just wasn't getting better after antibotics ect. and we related it to the possibility her kidneys were shutting down.
This was my first avatar picture. There are some pictures of me around but I'll wait a while. It makes me smile to see her(dog) for now. We gave her the best 2 years of her life and that is very special.
Quick story over the weekend at the rubberstamp convention in portland Or I met Stamps and Cars(sp) because of her picture and she said she was going to be there. It was fun to meet someone from SCS. There is a NW get together but I can't go, but can't wait to go to one!!
Okay quick someone come up with a funny Story!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Stampin'

I was answering questions for a life insurance policy, and, when when we came to height, I must have appeared quite dejected or something, when I responded, "5 ft. 1 1/2 inches."
She got out her tape measure, to verify, and then smiled at me . . .
"I think we can safely round up, and say 5 ft. 2 inches. OK?"
I don't mind being short all that much tho . . . especially if a tall handsome gentleman is willing to pluck that bottle of french vanilla coffee creamer, way in back on the top shelf for me . . .

Yep, my avatar is a picture of me! I'm 5'8" -- and have been since I was 10 years old (hit that growth spurt early!). Normally I hate pictures of myself, but I thought this one was pretty darn good.

My avatar is my babies, whom I adore and are very cute! The one in the middle is now at Rainbow Bridge having just passed away in late February. She was an exceptional, beloved companion and is much missed by our family.

Man, this broke my heart! I'm so sorry.
I'm 5' 2" myself. My mother insisted she was 4 feet 11 1/2 inches. She's even shorter now that she's in her 60's.

My mom is 4' 11 1/2", my dad is 6'4", I'm 5' 11" and my younger brother is 6'2". Mom used to get so aggravated because we would put things away in the upper cabinets and she couldn't reach them. I see it as my job to help people get things off the top shelf at grocery stores.

Well this was a fun thread...ironically I was just about to go and change mine to a photo of myself because I too, like seeing who I'm talking to and should probably show the same consideration! Off I go to do that and will post back when done! The photo now is of my two gorgeous children on a fabulous fall day!
