My parents' 50th wedding anniversary is coming up and I'd like to make a huge card for them that the whole extended family can sign. I don't really have any ideas, except using 2 pieces of 12x12 CS and hooking them together somehow. Does anyone have any ideas?
TIA!

To expand on the poster board theme, you could lace the two boards together with ribbon, twine, brads, wire, leather cord, or go nautical and use rope,
pockets of 12X12--perhaps to hold cards from other folks
photo mounts for Polaroids of the party
paint a square of the 12X12 with blackboard chalk, glue to card and attach a piece of chalk on a cord for special messages
I like the idea of using poster board. I would only decorate the front -- with appropriate flowers, bells or verses -- and leave the entire inside blank for friends and family to sign.
Poster board just came into my mind as I was reading the question. You could even fold it in half if it was too big but at least it would be more like a 'card' rather than having to figure out how to bind the front and back together. Good idea.....I'll have to keep that in mind!!!
I have had to make a few cards for lots of signatures--I make accordian (sp????) cards or booklets. It is more manageable to work with AND it is an easier piece of memorbelia to store. Big cards make a big impression, but then what does the recipient do with them??
Alternatively, have you considered stamping a large card front and have folks sign a 3" or 4" mat and then have the entire thing framed?
I just made an accordian card with 5 pocket cards made from 1/2 sheets of 12x12 paper. I made tags for it that allowed for 30 people to sign it. It was so fun to make and I was really happy with it! I'll link it here:
We did a thank you card to the local municipal gov't with 130 students signing it. They signed both sides of the inside of 2 12" X 12" cardstock sheets and we found this a bit flimsy. I like the suggestions of using poster board paper. We used a 6" strip in contrasting color cardstock paper to join the two together and this needed to be handled gently. This strip was folded in half and then both sheets were glued to it. This made a nice finishing edge to the page on which we had glued a double matted school bus stamp ...simple but classy just the same. We 2nd generation stamped the bus in random fashion on the front of the card before glueing the matted school bus in the center with Thanks stamped in the lower righthand corner. The bus was chalked in "real colors" with glitter around the outside of it School bus kids from kindergarten to gr. 12 were all interested and pleased to sign the card thanking the muni for extra gravel at the school yard where we dropped the students off for school. Good luck with your 50th Anniv. celebrations.

Reason: insufficient description of card front
