Oh I'm not offended by anyone else usually and am not here either. I just think it's silly to be so offended by cards that weren't posted here. She didn't tell you to go and look, it was brought by a third party. Personally I wouldn't use them either but it's funny to see someone having a great time playing.
It doesn't matter WHERE or HOW they were posted, they were still imposed on us and I too am sorry I looked.
I find the cards to have a lot of similarities to contemporary artists from my community. The content is challenging, and meant to make a statement and make us think. I don't have to agree with the statement or the form it takes, but I do respect the artist's ability and effort!
IMO the bulimia card isn't making fun of people who suffer from this illness, but of how marketing and fashion has tended to hold up an unhealthy body type as "the ideal woman". (Unhealthy for all but some small percentage of the population.) At least that's what I got from that card.
I'm sad to see so much bashing of the creator of these cards. Her work IMO is focused much more on socio-political commentary than just on the graphic design end of the art spectrum; obviously it's not everybody's cup of tea, but we don't need to slag her over it.
some things are sacrosanct. I am not a Christian myself, but ANYTHING that has the potential to offend people's beliefs is OUT OF LINE. I actually have nothing good to say about Christianity, but no way in hell would I put down anyone for believing what they do nor make fun of their beliefs.
That's a bit broad. I'm betting that almost anything (especially religious stuff) does actually have the potential to offend someone else's beliefs.
Hopefully there are now enough posts by offended people in this thread to scare off like-minded people from clicking on the link. I know that not everyone reads the thread first before clicking though.
I think most of those are funny. The ones that weren't, I wouldn't call offensive. Just not my taste. There are a lot more things in the world, that people do to hurt others that I find disgusting.
I'm probably more like the person who created these cards. I don't really care what other people think of me.

Reason: spelling
I just have to say that when I went to this site, I just looked at the card that is linked. I was really having a PMS day when I saw this card and it just struck me funny.
I didn't look at the other cards there - and I can see how some would be offended. That certainly wasn't my intent.
Didn't mean to stir up a hornet's nest here.

If you didn't like what the cards said after the first one then you shouldn't have looked. There is more to cards then the hearts and flowers, why not how we really feel sometime! I agree with getting the bunched up panties out of certain butts!
I wonder if she makes any with condoms?
I added her site to my favs........
She could make one that said "Don't 'condom' me for my cards!"
I got a chuckle out of her cards. I'm 63 years old, and have seen enough of the world that I'm not easily offended! Hateful, hurtful actions offend me, not words.
I don't think these cards were 'imposed' on anyone. A quick peek would have been enough to tell anyone that it was not their cup of tea.
I think it's funny that her cards are linked to crime stories. I'm going back for a better look when I have more time.

I find this highly offensive because how dare you impose a card on me that talks about underwire!! I am kidding of course! I just thought that I may prove a point that everyone has different views in life. I am of course refering to your comment on a thread at SCS about how you were offended by someone else's cards and that they were imposed on you. I beg to differ. Life is about choices. You chose to look!
I am so mad it's not even funny. My hands are shaking right now. I never EVEN said others weren't entitled to THEIR choices and opinions. I CHOSE to look before I even read anything else about it, if I had read the other comments I wouldn't have looked. I don't feel that my comment warrented this type of response. I don't care if you differ or not. DO NOT come on my blog and make this sort of comment.
Different strokes and all that, but at the very least you might note that the resulting card may be NSFW. I'm fortunate enough to have my own office, but imagine how embarrassing it might be for someone who doesn't and who looks at that while someone else is hovering around their desk?

The chocolate peeps one is the BEST!
the tampon thing is just gross to me, but I hate thinking about "that". ;)
I don't get why she would stamp a cute critter on a cross, but whatever.
Some of those cards are quite clever and fun to look at. I can't think of a single person to send one to, though (except the peeps card, of course).
I've added a disclaimer to the first post of this thread as suggested.
While I understand that the cards that were linked are not everyone's style, slamming the creator or other posters in this thread just isn't cool. Thanks for keeping that in mind as you continue to post here (and in other threads, too!).

*applauds for the first amendment rights of Freedom of Speech* and before anyone gets on their soapbox my family can trace their roots in this country to 1649 when they sought religious freedom.
The WWJD card is not offensive in and of itself - it is the viewer assumptions that makes it so. Why does anyone interpret as being an upright cross, why not an "X" marking the spot and the cat in danger? - and actually isn't the answer in the bible to WWJD - he would "save the cat" like he did the thief? Remember many people during Jesus' time died on the cross he was not alone in that.
Sorry....not my style and I don't like most of the cards mentioned here, but to each their own. I did notice though that her cards are not favorited very much. I like to make cards that I can actually use. I think I'd have a very hard time sending one of these cards to a friend or family member. Just my opinion.

GET A LIFE!!
Whoever did that really needs to get control of themselves. I'm wondering why they would single you out? I understand why you would find that upsetting.

I know you have every right to express your opinion however, to justify yourself by saying she isn't "favorited" isn't very nice IMO. There are many fab cards in the gallery by a variety of talented posters that aren't favorited often.
Maybe we can all just act nice and stop picking on a person who isn't defending themself nor who is the OP.

I didn't say SHE wasn't favorited....what I said was that her cards were not favorited very much. And you are correct in saying that there are lots of wonderful cards in the gallery that are also not favorited. Furthermore, I was not picking on her I was just stating that the cards are not my style. I also said in my original post 'to each their own'.
I agree with you in that maybe we can all just act nice and stop picking on people, especially those of us who are trying to post our opinions and feelings.
That "who you calling a hoe?" card made me laugh out loud! I don't think I would have put the actual tampon on the front of the card, but what a phrase! I remember telling my daughter that I felt so grouchy, she might want to put flares up around me, I was like the scene of an arguement/accident waiting to happen! Hey c'mon! You wanna piece of me?!
I'm pretty open minded and found some of her cards hilarious. Others just kind of missed me. A couple I could have done without. That's the thing about going out on a limb with humor -- sometimes the branch breaks.
Gross and offensive, IMHO. Everyone has a right to freedom of expression, though, including artistic expression. Everyone also has the right to disagree and find them disgusting. To each her own. That's called freedom of speech, and we all have that right. Time to move on....

because it says WWJD and that leads one to the fact that it IS intended to be a cross, not an "X"
And I, and I'm sure many others, are perfectly aware that He wasn't alone in dying on a cross, however I don't recall any CATS being crucified... it's distasteful and disrespectful to those of us who revere and praise Him.
Sorry, I stand by my feelings... that card is offensive to me.
WOW, all this over cards!!!!
I thought all but one, was funny, but to each his own. What I think is funnier, is how angry ppl are getting!!! YIKES!!!
I think some of them are funny! I also know that I couldn't send a card like that to just anyone. As is evident here, some people are just too easily offended. My sister would get a kick out of the tampon card though!!!

Were evolution true, Mothers would have more than 2 hands!
This girl *who I've known for ages and is a sweetheart and you probably didn't offend HER because she's tough like that but you made ME cry* has another site. It's a collection of "Dirty Shanks" cards. Now don't go clicking this if you are already offended, because that would be silly. I'm putting it for reference to what I say next http://dirtyshankcardchallenges.blogspot.com/
Ok on that site of hers it says,
"If you are easily offended this may not be the challenge blog for you, because:
1) we don't care if we offend you.
2) you have been warned."
So probably she doesn't care... just sayin.
Oh and there IS a condom card on that site, it's the current challange.
And of course everyone has the right to be offended! But some comments have been mean.
