Default ISO Dear-Abby-type advice

I received a very generous RAK. It is the first I have every received and I was tickled!! I sent a PM to her and thanked her. But my question is, should I automatically send her something in return? Is it expected of me?
I don't want to look like a jerk. If it was a "gift" type item should I send a "gift?" or is a card ok? Dilemma, Dilemma...

I'm sure the giver of this RAK would appreciate anything you would send her, card or gift, but she is probably not expecting anything in return.

When I was big into RAK lists, I often put in my note that the receiver could show their appreciation by sending a RAK to someone else. You know the old adage.."better to give than to receive."

Isn't it a great feeling to receive such a wonderful surprise in the mail??!

I was under the impression that for every one you recieve you should send another one out, but to someone else, that keeps it going.

But I have received a RAK from someone I had sent one to. It was really sweet because she told me how much she appreciated mine. It put a smile on my face but I certainly didn't expect it.

I think a return card would suffice, I am sure she would appreciate it! If you feel like making a gift type of thing, go ahead, but it isn't required!

It's the official answer from the RAK forum

?Upon receipt of a RAK, please post a THANK YOU to the sender so they know their greeting arrived. Scan it if you wish, and upload the card in the RAK gallery for all of us to enjoy.

So, it is not necessary to send anything in return but If you would like to, there is no need to make it "equal" the one you received.

Enjoy your RAK!
