Default Xyron Machines & Lunch Tins

Has anyone tried putting the paper through the Xyron machine, putting it
on the tin and then sealing it instead of using Mod Podge?

I've done it, and I think it is great! Just use the adhesive/laminate, and it will have a nice shiny protected finish. Eileen

I just bought a Xyron 510 which comes with the permanent adhesive included. I don't have the adhesive laminate. Could I just use the permanent adhesive for sticking the paper on the lunch tins, and then maybe mod podge over it for a protective finish?

oooh... I'm interested in the responses on this thread! Give us all your ideas and advice. I never thought about using my Xyron 900 for the lunch tin!

Wow, I've had a roll of the cold laminate for the longest time, and didn't know what to do with it. Now I know. Perhaps I'll try it on a little tin first. Thanks for the idea!

If you're going to use Mod Podge as a finish coat, it's important that you also use it to adhere the paper.

Oh, that's good to know. Thanks Rachel. I guess I'll use my next Michael's coupon to buy the laminate refill.

I have used my Xyron...the only thing I have noticed is that on the edges on the sides (where you overlap a little bit) after awhile they start to come up...I need to go back and use a little bit of CE to glue them down....but other than that Xyron works great.

I use xyron and an acrylic sealer. I do not like mod podge at all.

A little bit of a highjack here.

But it does have to do with Xyron machine large or small.

Make your own Pop dots. By using Craft foam
Run it through you Xyron both front and back.
Then cut them out or use a small circle punch.

Works great!

Is the acrylic sealer the same spray- on type that is used for coasters?
