What a great thread! Love hearing the info behind the name. When I first joined SCS I wasn't thinking at all of a catchy username. I didn't know what SCS was! So, my username is our e-mail addy. Easy for most that know us to remember :
p (for my hubby Paul)
r (for me, Renee)
c (for our oldest, Caleb)
h (for our next daughter, Hannah)
vs (for our last name, Van Stralen)

We had 2 more children but I didn't feel like going through the rigamarole into changing the addy to prchmjvs (for Maria and Jacob). Too much work!

ok- mine came from my e-mail address...which came from my last name. It's Cuccia (pronounced Coo-chee-uh) and of all people, my FIL always used to pronounce it "coochie" so DH and I would always joke that we'd name our first born "Hoochie"...

Anyway, when we got married I had to change my e-mail, and I was all in love and just married, so I wanted to do something cutsie, hence Cuccicoo1002 - the 1002 is my wedding date October 2. Now it's stuck, and I use it for just about everything....

I had never had a user name before signing on to SCS. I am not creative at all--have to case every card I have ever made to a "t". I thought of the SU color Not quite Navy and just changed it.

I love to garden and my first name starts with B.

My internet address is a version of: beeinthegarden, as in I'll be in the garden, or B (for Barb) in the garden. I have a friend who likes to give me bee-related items.

Mine came from childhood. When we were younger my 3 older brothers used to call me "Sassy Sissy Prissy Chrissie". And to this day I still get that from time to time!

I'm so glad this thread got started! I was having a hard time finding a name that wasn't already taken when my husband suggested I use something with the word vintage in it since vintage-style stamps are my favorites. Nothing catchy came to mind so I tried to think of something with the word antique since antique and vintage have a similar meaning. I said "What about antiquestamper? He said "That's great, because not only do you like to stamp cards that look antique, but you could probably be considered an antique in the business since you've been stamping for such a long time (nearly 14 years now). Of course, when I chose that name I never gave a thought to the fact that people might assume I'm older than my 37 years!

I didn't have any real hobbies (other than reading!) until my mid 30's and then felt that I'd cheated myself for not getting into bookbinding, rubberstamping, and scrapping until then. Hence, LateBlossom.

All those wasted years watching TV in my "spare" time...so sad!

I'm a stamper and a Dental Hygienist. I have always referred to myself as "the tooth fairy", so stampintoothfairy seemed appropriate. When I am on the phone and I give my email address out, they always ask if a "g" is supposed to be in there. Not "stamping", "stampin'" cause of SU!! I don't even try to explain.

I went on a job interview and the dentist saw my email address [email protected] and thought I meant that I stamp my foot alot. Dental Hygienists have some how received a reputation as prima donnas (?sp). I am not though.

My parents and siblings all called me Bec (short for Becca, which is short for Rebecca! - brilliant bunch, huh?). When I lived in Indianapolis and worked with a very sweet girl who was my craft buddy, she always added suffixes to the end of my name - things like Beckalotomus, Beckster, Beckeriffic, etc. I just thought of those when I was choosing my user name because "Becky" seemed obvious and boring . . . I get called that all the time!
Now my very funny friends call me Bekster - or "THE" Bekster if they feel really humorous!

There was a LONG thread about this that I don't think I ever posted to, but here ya go...

Rose is my middle name. I stamp.

The W stands for "Wild Irish." I've been using Wrose for over 25 years, started when I worked at the Georgia Institute of Technology - I was a secretary there.

OH! Mine is not creative at all. It's just my first name & middle name put together, but I want to change it now, too. I meant it's actually my double secret fake identity from before I had 2 children and I was a princess that was spirited away.....Oh, okay, I just wanted to have a good story like Good/Bad Cheri!

p.s. once tried to name myself with a scrapbooking name and scrapmouse was taken so did mousescrapper. well dh said ha ha thats funny mouses crapper. that was an end to that.

Hi all,

Fun to read your stories!

"allnitescrapper" pretty obvious... although i often do pull all-nighters... not just til 2 or 3, but 5 or 6 (then sometime around 10 or 11 i can't see straight and have to take a nap)... mind you i only do this on days off, but since i teach and i'm done teaching summer school, i have 2 more weeks to do this!
I'm making cards and decorating everything i can find though, not scrapbooking (I haven't done this much since I started teaching... bummer).

(and sold stuff under that name as well - i wanted a fun business name for some clear plaques and handmade tags i made to sell at a LSS)...

BTW... I've got all these clear shrinky-dink plastic phrase plaques left over (the LSS closed)... how do you think I should try to sell/get rid of my extra product)... FYI - the plaques come three to a package and are different themes... I don't know if I want to pursue selling online somehow? just looking for bright ideas!

I am so enjoying reading through this thread! As a matter of fact, I recently sent a RAK to BadSherry and had inquired of her how she came upon that for her username on SCS. Lo and behold, she has posted her explanation in this thread. I got such a chuckle out of her explanation.
JulieHRR, you are too funny! I love the way you think and write!
So, even though my first name is Charlene, why do I use Lil? This golf league I belonged to always had these 3-day golf outings (pardy hardy!) to beautiful Cadillac, MI, and we always had a banquet night where we dressed up somewhat fancy schmancy for the dinner. My husband and I decided that we were going to surprise the gang and dress up in 1940s style. We even went to a local theatre shop to find vintage clothing. Not only did I have an awesome sequined dress, hat with veil, seamed nylons, and long evening gloves (with the jewelry on the outside), but I also found one of those long cigarette holders so I could walk around saying "dahling." Since we were in costume, we decided we had to have fictitious names. I thought Lillian sounded very 40ish, so I dubbed myself Lil. He loves the Blues Brothers and dubbed himself Jake, so we became Jake and Lil. When I became familiar with SCS, I decided to use Lil in my username; hence, LilLuvsStampin!

Hey Karla and Keri! My sister's name is Rae Lynn. You just don't run accross that name very often. It's funny to see it here TWICE!

When I signed up on SCS, I MEANT to do something fun and cute for my screenname, like Snapdragon something-or-other, but I forgot when I was coming up with my screenname so it has a serious case of the borings. My senior year of high school, my band director (I played piccolo) was on this huge kick about his garden and he kept comparing people in our band to different plants and flowers. He kinda picked on me a lot, so I would just glare at him whenever he even looked at me, so one day he told me I was like a snapdragon....tall, and red, and subtly hateful. I'm NOT red, and I wouldn't have been "subtly hateful" if he hadn't picked on me so much! So, um, yeah, that's what my funny screenname story would have been if I'd been thinking the day I picked my name on here. I think I got out of band lucky with Snapdragon...one girl was compared to skunk cabbage.

As for what I actually ended up with....my name is Christy (which is totally boring in and of itself in my opinion!) and my last name starts with S. Unfortunately having this screenname doesn't make Jeanne S's artistic genius rub off on me.

I have no imagination....I have been trying to come up with something real catchy. Any suggestions?

The first impression I get from people when they see my username (RSNutt), is they ask me if I'm a fan of Rick Springfield!!! ) And then they don't wait for an answer (which is yes!, but I wouldn't give myself the name RSNutt because of it) and go on and tell me all about how they watched him on General Hospital etc. BTW, every person who asks me about Rick Springfield, immediately will start singing "Jessie's Girl".!!! Too funny.

But actually, I am a Nutt for Rubber Stamping! Simple. Most people who Know me, can figure it out. But I still get the Rick Springfield fans. I just smile and nod my head anymore. I'm just as gaa gaa over Trace Adkins.
