The demos I "follow" tend to split workshops into cards or scrapbooking. I make cards only so the scrapbooking doesn't interest me.

One demo had put out a short survey asking what people were interested in (cards, scrapbooking, other items such as notebook covers, mugs, clipboards, etc.) and then built workshops around the interest.

I think it's helpful to tell folks ahead of time what the focus is.

Good luck!

That's what I did.

Before my club started in September, I had a workshop with the same girls. During that workshop I learned 2 things from them. 1. 2 make and takes are too many(for them, in other workshops I have had 3 make and takes without it being a problem) 2. They wanted to learn techniques and they didn't want homework(so they didn't want 3d items they just wanted to scrapbook)

So my club is one technique and then we scrapbook. It probably costs me $3 for the products I use and they order between $400 and $850 everymonth.

My demo offers six cards for $9.00. She rents the local library room for $5.00. She bring a variety of snacks. She just sets the cards up at stations. She doesn't do a demo. She goes around and answers questions. WE also help each other. She keeps the hostess sets and hostess awards. Another demo whose workshops I've gone to does 12 different cards for $15.00 and keep the hostess points too. Another demo offers 4 cards for $6.00 and holds the workshops in her home. Both of the ladies also set up stations and go around and help.

The wonderful demo I connected with several months ago offers a Stampers Ten club that I've been able to join. The club consists of ten of us who meet monthly for ten months and are committed to placing a $15.00 order at each meeting. That way, the full order is a minimum of $150.00, which qualifies for hostess benefits, and each month a different member is the "hostess." If someone is unable to make a particular meeting, she places her order in advance. We meet at our demo's home, have a potluck meal, and then our demo teaches us a new technique for a card, and we all make the same card using that technique.

I love being a part of this group and having the opportunity to get together with other women who enjoy making cards. We have a lot of fun, and it's something I look forward to every month.

Oh, none of these ladies require a purchase. My main demo usually has about 12 to 15 at her workshop and usually six or more order and I bet her orders are well over $150.00 each month.
