I know you are suppose to list all the products that you use when you submit something for publication. What if I want to submit something but don't know who makes the ribbon I have? Do you think that will cause me problems?

I was just published on a stamp company's website and I notice that I left something out and they just wrote it in as unknown.

I've noticed that a product is listed as unknown in some magazines. I don't think it is a big problem but not sure. Perhaps one of the women who have been published can abswer this question.

Each publication varies in terms of how strict they are with write-ups. Write it up as "source unknown" and you will probably be fine! HTH.

I wouldn't worry about ribbon too much. I save all my ribbon scraps and never really know who they're by. I just list it as "unknown" and it's ok. It's more of the major products that are featured that most mags are really concerned with - at least that has been my experience. An unknown ribbon every now and then is ok!

For publications like Take Ten, you don't need to acknowledge who makes the stuff like ribbons, brads or other embellishments. They want to know the makers of the stamps used, and a simple recipe for how to make the card. If you don't know the maker of the stamp (unmounteds are sometimes difficult to identify), you put "maker unknown" and that is good enough.
