Winter mini order help PLEASE

Okay it's time, I need to place my order -- problem is I really like so much in this catty.

Plan on getting Carte Postale, it seems so versatile however, currently I have on my list the matching wheel, BG stamp & designer papers -- do I really need ALL of it? That a tidy sum $$$$.

Also, really like Love Matters -- for those who have it, are you enjoying it -- or those that talked themselves out of it, are you okay w/ your decision?

I keep thinking I'll "axe" Tagger's dozen, but then I look at the samples again, and they are so cute and yes pretty versatile.

Trees Three -- that's easy its my favorite -- staying on the list.

I know a lot of gals have said if you have Little pieces, Big Pieces is a must have -- well, dog gone it I HAVE Little Pieces.

Looking for advise, anything appreciated, whats a SAHM to do? Thanks Ladies!!!!

nmslmomto3 02-16-2007 05:27 AM

Not to make this any harder, but I HAD to order Like It A Latte from the mini. I had to get the papers too, and tin with the tags, they are so cool. I passed on the Carte Postale set, although I am sure I will regret it..lol. I also liked the Love Matters, but it is almost *too* cutsie for what I want to use it for. I also passed on taggers dozen, I figure I have enough of the tag sets and I don't use them enough now..lol. I also like Tree's Three when I saw it, but have not been too impressed with the samples. Of course after the mini expires I always find *something else* I didn't get that I wanted. But I did get the small tag punch, that is a must for me with all the tag sets I have!

Softangelkisses 02-16-2007 05:36 AM

I agree with the above poster, I HAD to have Like it a latte! I didn't order anything else from the Winter mini except that!

melanie_kay82 02-16-2007 05:57 AM

Well I am partial to Big Pieces. It was the only set I bought from the Winter mini. I do agree that if you have Little Pieces, you will want Big Pieces. I have had a lot of fun with the set.

jpmayo 02-16-2007 05:59 AM

I agree with both above posters about Like it a Latte, it's a muct have:)
If you have Little Pieces then you need Big Pieces unless you think that it will be in the big catty since Little Pieces is in there, then you can get it later. The Carte Postale stuff is not me at all so I havent gotten it but I do think it is beautiful so if you like it then of course you need all the coordinating stuff:)
Oh and I love Taggers Dozen, I use it a lot and not necesarily as "tags", the little saying are really cute and go with lots of other SU! sets!

stampwithdiane 02-16-2007 06:03 AM

Don't forget to stock up on the Loves Me designer paper and flirty ribbon! Those are easily my favorite two things in the winter mini and because they both use cool caribbean they probably will not make it back into the big book.

housefan 02-16-2007 06:06 AM

I passed on the Postale set, but did get the wheel and love it. Then I spent $6 to get the large package of foam flourishes from that company that sells all the cream colored foam on the black backing (maybe Making Memories?) and use those instead. I am very happy with the results.

housefan 02-16-2007 06:07 AM

Also, I got Big Pieces and use it even way more than Little Pieces. I love it more than I thought I would. So versatile.

momis mama 02-16-2007 06:09 AM

i was about to say that i had limited myself to one set from the winter mini... but as i was just paging thru, i notice that i ordered 2.

1st and formost- BIG PIECES!!!
i also ordered sweet on you.

if i could... i'd like to have the taggers doz. and love matters- but have to stop somewhere.

the spring mini is just around the corner!

SmurfBE 02-16-2007 06:39 AM

I really can't offer any help because there are only 3 things in the winter mini that I don't have...yet...I still have 12 days to get them. *sigh*

Good luck with your decision.

Tanaf 02-16-2007 07:53 AM

I do think Big pieces are a must have! Fist thing I had to get.

You love trees three so get that.

I understand wanting Carte Postale and I like French Flair (the BG). I personally can live without the wheel because the leaf in the set is so similar and if I need to I can build a border. I personally was not a huge fan of this paper. It did grow on me over time though. JMHO if you are trying to cut back. Otherwise go for it.

Love Matters is sooo cute but there is more cute doodle stuff including an alphabet and numbers in the Spring mini and a doodle set with a cute heart so again up to you...

Taggers dozen I did not personally buy so I haven't played with it. Have to draw a line somewhere.

Have fun with your order.

scrapshappen 02-16-2007 08:20 AM

I love my love matters set, but like a pp said, the doodle alphabet set is very cute and way more versatile. Now I'll probably have to get that too!

inkpad 02-16-2007 09:23 AM

I don't know if I'll ever part with Love Matters, even if it doesn't make it into the next big catalog. The hearts are fun but I really like all the words in it!

jent 02-16-2007 01:45 PM

Taking all of the replies in -- thanks so much gals

Anyone else?

stampaholic17 02-16-2007 01:53 PM

I just placed my second order from the Winter Mini because I decided I couldn't live without Trees Three. I also have the flirty ribbon and the Loves Me paper, Big Pieces (so versatile!) and Fancy Flexible Phrases.

I was able to pass on Like it a Latte, Love Matters and Carte Postale.

I've seen the Spring mini and there is a ton in there I want so hold on to your wallet. Gotta get all of the Doodle stamps, Au Chocolate paper and Big Petals. I'm thinking seriously about You Make Me Happy and Polka Dots and Petals. :D

Oscar T. Grouch 02-16-2007 02:06 PM

trees thee is wonderful

big pieces to go with little pieces is essential

and I love the small sayings

jent 02-17-2007 05:50 AM

Still looking for input -- THANKS!

Speedystamper 02-17-2007 06:02 AM

I bought everything related to Carte Postale and I just LOVE it. It goes from masculine to feminine. If you love elegant - this is the set for you because almost everything you stamp with it has an elegant, expensive feel to it. I had to get French Flair, too, not only because it goes so nicely with Carte Postale, but also because I just love those swirls!! So pretty!

I did get small sayings, but I think I could have lived without it because the Spring Mini has a nice sayings set, too. I passes on the small tag punch, because it is also offered in the Spring Mini . . . I can get it then. I also passed on Love Matters and feel no regrets whatsoever. I debated and debated about Big Pieces and spent a lot of time in the gallery trying to decide if I really needed it. Finally, I decided I needed it . . . the price was a little more than what I wanted to pay because I wasn't *in love* with it if you KWIM - but, if I end up using it a lot . . . it will be worth it. Good Luck on your decision!

indyemmert 02-17-2007 09:03 AM

I did not get Carte Postale because of the price and also because I don't like the bird. I got the paper, but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. It's made more for scrapbooking to me.
I love the Loves Me paper and flirty ribbon. I also love Tagger's Dozen and the small tag punch. I think Tagger's Dozen coordinates well with Sweet Shapes from the regular catalog.

Scrapping&Stamping 02-17-2007 01:18 PM

I ordered tagger's dozen, sweet on you, the paper, the ribbon, pink pocket notes, I like it a latte, and big pieces. I loved this mini. I got some from my hubby at xmas and then again at v-day. Then I had a huge show this weekend and earned some free.

Carte postale is not my style...

malindaplace 02-17-2007 01:41 PM

Like you, I'm a fan of Carte Postale and French Flair. It was definitely love at first sight. I think it's the most beautiful set SU! has debuted in a long time. I hope it's a sign of things to come.

I decided not to get the matching wheel because a single stamp of the wheel image is in the set, so if I just had to have that look as a background or border I could achieve it.

I did buy the Enchante' papers - very unusual for me. I thought the were exceptionally pretty, so I splurged. I haven't done that in a while. If I'd been trimming down a very large order, they'd have gotten the ax.

You said you have Little Pieces, but you didn't say whether you liked using it. Since you expressed reservations, I'd say only get Big Pieces if you are delighted with Little Pieces!

That's my 2 cents. Good luck deciding! :)

jailbirdstamper 02-17-2007 01:56 PM

I passed on the carte postal set.... so many people have bought it that I figured if I changed my mind that would be easy to pick up later. I had to get Big Pieces and I don' t even have little pieces! I got the Latte set and the french flair BG and the enchante paper.

jailbirdstamper 02-17-2007 01:57 PM

oh and sweet on you and the pocket notes (although I think they are very very pricey!) and the Loves Me paper was a must have as well as the coordinating ribbon.

jailbirdstamper 02-17-2007 01:57 PM

ok yeah I did get Love Matters... I had to have that one!

ajcmeyer 02-17-2007 04:12 PM

I just placed an order for Postal Carte set, Enchante paper, but skipped the BG stamp and wheel. I also ordered the Love Matters set. I am a bit more of a scrapper lately though. So these appealed to me for that reason. I am loving all the doodle style of the love matters set and the alphabet and doodle looking stamps from the upcoming mini. Very girly. (I have two girls)

dawnmercedes 02-17-2007 04:18 PM

I think you can skip the wheel that matches carte postale. You can use the leaves from the set to reproduce a similar background.

But you do need the paper. And the BG stamp.

I agree, axe Tagger's Dozen.

You do not need Big Pieces. Trust me..you don't. I talked myself out if it, you can too.

Remember...the new catty is coming, the new catty is coming...4 more months...4 more months.

Good luck!

steubner 02-17-2007 04:49 PM

I skipped the wheel. But my favorite set besides Carte Postale is Small Sayings. I have reached for it almost every time I sit down to stamp! Love love love it!

sunnysnowflake 02-21-2007 12:20 PM

I am really trying to decide if Big pieces is really worth the price. I have little pieces which I love but don't use much so I think I would use it more if I had big pieces to go along with. I also have a cuttlebug so that folder with the circles would go great. I don't plan on purchasing anything else from the winter mini becuase I am short of funds.

kellyklp 02-21-2007 12:44 PM

Well, I got Carte postale on the b/s/t forum with a set I rarely used. So, I didn't think it was worth a new purchase, but a trade definitely. In regards to the paper, I liked it in the catty, and when I have it in person, I personally didn't care for it. So, I would not get the paper to save $9.

Love Matters has been a fun stamp set, and I wasn't going to get it, but again, I did a trade on b/s/t and I thought it was worth it :0)

I purchased Tagger's Dozen and I haven't even cut it out yet, I just haven't seen many samples with it, and I think I could live without it.

I did buy Big Pieces and I am in love with it! I would definitely purchase that one, but that is only my 2 cents! Good luck!

That darn winter mini just killed my bank account. I loved EVERYTHING in it! I ended up getting Carte Postale, French Flair, the paper that goes with it (Enchante), Tagger's Dozen, the small tag punch, Trees Three, and Big Pieces. I love the Carte Postale and coordinating French Flair and paper...it's so elegant. Trees Three is just gorgeous too.

Big Pieces is so versatile and seems a must if you have Little Pieces. The Tagger's Dozen will come in handy for gift-tags, etc and I love some of those cute little images.

Sorry not to be much help! I'm just thankful that I don't like very much from the Spring Mini.

Shawn
