I removed the labels from mine. I had to use goo gone to get the stickiness off the bottles, and that was pretty tedious. If you can get the paper on the bottles without letting the labels show, I'd say leave them on!

The ones I did are in my gallery. I did not remove the labels. I started to, but decided it was too much work for 8 sets and it really didn't seem necessary.
I take them off! Easy!
I put the blade of a table knife under the edge of the label and start scraping it upward underneath the label. Once I get an edge of about 1/2" or so, I pull it slowly with my fingers till it all comes off. I dont bother getting the sticky glue off, since I am adhering another piece of paper anyway over it!!

I remove labels, too...I used one of those retractable razor blades, and then I use an SOS pad to get the goo off..they come out perfectly clean and clear! The SOS doesn't scratch the bottle, either....
I have some starbuck frappucinno bottles... did you remove the labels or just cover them up with pretty paper?
I haven't actually decorated any bottles yet, but I did buy 2 4-packs AND drink the coffee! Yum - but did you know there's 200 calories in each bottle! I digress...
I put the bottles in a sink of water because someone mentioned the smell... they soaked for a couple of hours, and the labels came right off with almost all of the adhesive!
200 calories? Hmm a drop in the bucket!! LOL I remove the glue of the bottles that I am not going to decorate (except for the tops). I let them sink in hot soapy water, rub and then remove the rest with Goo Gone. I do this for bottles that I want to fill with candies, etc. I like having 2 bottles with the frap still in them and two with something else, but there are endless possibilties!

I did take them off my DH hubby works at a place that manufactures custom windows and doors, and he brought home a glass scraper that the window department uses to get the stickers off windows after they install them, it works get no need for goo gone or anything it leaves it perfectly clean.

Would anyone be able to purchase one of these glass scrapers for themselves? Is it something a person could find at a hardware store? I can think of other items that I could use one for as well. As for the labels on the bottles, stick them in HOT water and let them sit for a bit, they'll come off pretty easy. Take a paper towel while the bottle is still warm and the glue will come off on the towel. This is how I take labels off of other jars & bottles. HTH.

I run hot water into the bottle (as hot as I can get it), let it sit for a few minutes to loosen up the glue, then pull the labels off, then I use my green scrubby (meanie greenie) and then just scrub off any stuck on glue. Works great, doesn't scratch the glass and takes off printing that they put onto the bottles.

I peel them off, soak them in hot water, get off as much yucky as I can, run them AND the lids thru the dishwasher, and then let them sit for a couple of days. Just to be sure the coffee smell is all gone.

Yes I believe so, looks like a cross between a putty knife and an exacto blade.
