Default window sheets same as ???

Hi,
Are window sheets (sold by SU) the same as transparency sheets I've seen in Michaels?

Thanks,
Denise

I don't think I've ever actually seen Michaels' brand, but window sheets are just acetate...like overhead transparencies.

I have not seen Michaels either. They are the transparencies that you can get at any office supply or even Wal Mart, Target, etc.

I am still trying to figure out which pack of transparencies to buy. There are some bargain packs, and then, there are packs with fewer per, for more money.
There must be a quality difference? Haven't taken the time to open them and probably shouldn't. Does anyone have a suggestion on which to get? Especially if you have had good luck with them...

I love the window sheets from SU...but that's probably because I know if there's a problem with them I will be able to get the help I need to solve it!

I would say, though, that they're probably pretty similar to the ones you'd find at an office supply store. I wouldn't say it's a product where the quality really impacts which I would buy...unlike cardstock or inks, for example.

Have fun!

Meg

I believe some are to write on with those special pens and other - more expensive ones- you can put through your printer and do other things with.
I got the cheaper ones and they are very very thin.

There are two different types, basically. If you want "just" window sheets, like to make glitter windows let's say, then just plain overhead transparencies will work. If you think you might want to heat emboss on one, then you need the type for laser printers. They are meant to withstand heat, which is what laser printing is...thermal printing.
