Default Background Stamps on Scrapbook Pages

Does anybody ever use their background stamps on their scrapbook pages? I've developed a bit of a bg fetish, but just not sure how to go about using them on my scrapbook pages. Maybe as a mat for pictures? I would love to see examples from all of you talented ladies. Thanks!

I do all the time. You can't tell in my gallery, because I usually use versamark. When I scan them in I shrink the files and you usually can't see that detail. Anyway, I love it! Use Canvas a lot....and now I am all about floral...really lends an elegance!

I am thinking the same as you, but haven't tried it yet. I thought for a photo mat or background for journaling. Also, thought I could use a stamp-a-ma-jig and try to make an entire background page or if that didn't work well use a narrow strip of CS to cover the areas where one image ends and the other begins.

Thanks for posting this, I'm interested to see some SB pages with BG stamps, too.

Thanks ladies! I'll definitely give it a try. Just ordered Canvas - can't wait to play when it comes in! Anybody else out there use them on their scrapbook pages?

I have not used an actual bg stamp but I have used others and made a random design... I love using stamps in my scrapbooks! I would use the stampamajig if you want it to be perfect - Or use colorblocking so that you stamp one piece at a time and put it all together.....

I use my stamps all the time for backgrounds. I use my wheels even more now that I tried them as backgrounds on my pages. It is hard to see in my scans sometimes because I generally try to match the colors. I think it gives my pages alittle demention it didn't have before.
I am addicted!!

I never even thought to use background stamps in scrapbook pages until this year's catty came out. What really caught my attention was the way Canvas was used on the scrapbook page on pg 15. The cover also has a good example. I recently experimented by trying to background the whole page with Canvas and Versamark but I really should have used my stampamajig. Fortunately I had a lot of pics on that page and I was able to cover the screwed up areas.

Another way I plan to use background stamps in the future is with the Headline Alphabet and using the kiss technique. This could be used with any solid image stamp really.

I plan to order about 5 background stamps because I'm really learning how many uses they have!

Wouldn't the letters come out backward using the kiss method?

I'm sorry, I think I got mixed up. (doing housework at the same time as Splitcoast doesn't work too well!) What I meant was that I would use the method where I lay the BG stamp rubber side up, ink it up really good and then ink my letter using the ink on the BG stamp. That way the letter has a pattern. Sorry my brain is just as tired as the rest of me today. And now off to mop the floors, one of my most hated jobs.
