Holy Cowboys that is a lot of money. I wish I had that one to sell. Mine aren't even worth trading. I swear I have every set that was listed on that thread about which set do you wish you hadn't bought.

Sheesh, that seller can get $150 in new merchandise PLUS get hostess benefits from just selling that one set! WOW! More power to her - I'd sell it if I had it too!

Good luck on that one!
She probably could get a great amount on that set if she didn't list it at a $225.00 Buy It Now price. If she set the bidding at $50 I bet it would go off from there but no one will want to start the bidding at that amount. I mean really, its a stamp set! The only kind of rubber I'm spending that kinda cash on is for the tires on my car.

Someone above said more money than sense..and I must agree with that! I'm watching it in my ebay to see if it sells. I will be shocked if it does.

Ridiculous to have a buy it now price for that high. I just paid 449.00 for a pro lens for my dSLR, I seriously doubt that a stamp set is worth half that price!

Makes me wonder what knd of ppl they are. You know what I mean? It seems like they are trying to take advantage of some newbie or something! I refuse to pay that much for a set. The most expensive one I have is...well, I got Fairies and Wolf in the same auction and I paid $75...but that was for both sets. oh...I lied...when I was just starting out in the SU stuff, I wanted 'What's Brewin'?' and got HOSED bc I was new. I think I paid like 55 for that one set. But there is no way I'd pay 225 for that set, it's nice but the sucker should be made of gold for that price!

OMFG That is just insane that someone would list it at a BIN for that much and even more insane that someone would spend 150 on it. EEEEEEEEK! Wish I had that kind of money to blow on stamps.

I have something just as good-A new, unmounted Godspeed and matching wheel. I'm not selling now though. I asked here on the BST and some newbie sold it to me for $22. SO it does pay to ask, even if you know it is a rare one.

Yeah the carp was pretty good. I got a laugh out of that one. I don't think there is any set I would even pay more than $50 for. But great for the seller if they have a buyer.

I've never seen that set! When is it from, anyone know? I'd love to have it because I have three kids who ride horses. But I'd NEVER pay that much for it. Not even a third that amount!

If you like the horses from that set, check out the link to this card. I did a google search for the manufacturer and the stamps are reasonable. They have other horses as well. http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...533136?cat=fav
I looked today on ebay for a set called For the Love of Chocolate - don't know how much it's really worth though.

How is putting something up for sale that's rare and marking it for a price "taking advantage of people"? If someone wants the set for that price, a purchase will be made; otherwise, it won't sell. The seller has the right to put whatever price he/she feels is appropriate.
"More money than sense"?? I sincerely doubt anyone on this board knows the reason(s) behind a specific person's purchase. Beauty, after all, is in the eye of the beholder. If I need something for a specific purpose in a specific period of time, I'm willing to pay more for it. I work a tremendous amount of hours each week, and I don't have time to go digging around for great deals. If I can afford something and I'm purchasing from a reputable seller at a price that is acceptable to me, I'm going to buy it. That's my choice. It doesn't mean I have less sense than someone who has 40 hours a week to burn on the Internet looking for the best deal. It just is what it is. And yes, I'd love to have the opportunity to find better deals, but it's not an option for me.
Wannabe has it right - it's what the market will bear.
Jane
