Default Embossing pad vs. VersaMark

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two for embossing? I always use my VersaMark but notice there's one in the catty called Top Boss Tinted Embossing Pad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,

The Top Boss Tinted Pad, will on light colours leave a very lightly tinted image when you have stamped.

The versamark II think IMHO is far better than the Top Boss, I have had the TB pad and ended up throwing it away as I found it was not doing the Job.

HTH

I've found the Versamark to be far more useful. You can use it to emboss, as a resist, and on any color paper to add a watermarked pattern. TB is pretty much embossing only. (well, you could use it as a resist, but I think the tinted color will stay on your paper.)

I've noticed my TB pad has to be reinked frequently, even after a couple of weeks. Not sure why, but this doesn't happen with my VM pad.

If you do a search of the archieves, this subject was discussed at length just a while ago. I'm from the Top Boss camp myself.

Yes, the tinted ink color will remain after you emboss! I had to redo the images on my first embossing resist card when the pink color didn't fade. Kind of a pain to do resists with VersaMark since it doesn't show up very well on light-colored cardstock, but I figure it's better than my embossing having a weird pink or blue tinge.
