Who has the most stamps?

Somewhere, on some message board yesterday, there was a post with a link to a blog where this woman showed pics of her stamp room. Floor to ceiling bins filled with thousands (I'm assuming) of stamps. I wanted to show someone, but I can't track it down.

So, I'm asking...who has the most stamps you've ever seen, and do you have photographic proof? Post your own photo, or a link to a blog that makes your jaw drop!

JulieHRR 10-26-2007 01:37 PM

I do not have the most by a long shot.

The last I heard Suze Weinberg had 10,000 (Ten Thousand) But, that was a few years ago.

It was a fun article, published by The Rubber Stamper, I believe . . . I do not have any pictures, as I don't know Suze Weinberg personally. Mebbe a google would turn up images of her collection that she herself has taken, tho?

I believe she has reduced her collection since then (?); she realized that on occasion she was buying duplicates of stamps she already had--which didn't surprise me, if she had 10,000! ....................http://www.millan.net/minimations/sm...tingsmiley.gif

I think she also made reference to the fact that she wanted to narrow down, to because she and her husband were moving into a new home, and she wanted to focus on her Melting Pot work with Ranger, etc. That may have been in a later article, tho. I remember seeing her studio--beautiful!

:D

10,000 ?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?

That's just a little scary...... impressive, but scary.

Yah, I wish I could find the link I saw yesterday, it was AMAZING. I was jealous, not only of the supplies, but the whole big space she had. LOL!

ebethneu 10-26-2007 02:11 PM

Ok, so this room may not have the MOST stamps but it's still amazing! You can roll over the picture to get bigger pictures and more details of what's in her drawers!

Beautiful! Clean! Bright! I would love it!

When I win the Lotto, I plan to build something similar, but, would like to have it even larger and with classroom space!

A girl can dream, eh?!

What a great space! Makes me wish we had a bigger house! When you have 4 children you get the left over area for stamping and that is by the sump pump in my house with all the creepy crawlies! Oh well, at least I have some place to call my own and I don't have to put away all the time. It can be a disaster and no one knows but me!

I guess a girl can dream though!

I know the room you are talking about. I saw it about a month or so ago, and I have no idea where to find it either. As I recall, there were kind of aisles to walk down between the stamp storage drawers.

Dobby 10-26-2007 03:22 PM

I found it! I think this chick's the winner.

OMG! There is no way I could find what I needed in that neat room. I could never afford those drawers, etc. It is super nice.

mischelle larson 10-26-2007 03:46 PM

ebethneu 10-26-2007 04:23 PM

HOLY TOLEDO!!!!!

That is not a stamping room.....that's a library!

I wonder if she has kids. They obviously couldnt go in the room without wanting to touch everything! And if she has kids......well....I'm sure the stamping budget didnt cut into college! LOL

WOW

ebethneu 10-26-2007 04:26 PM

Oh yeah, and I would NOT want to pack that room up to move.

beccabatgirl 10-26-2007 05:47 PM

Wow! I can't imagine having that much stuff! It is very well organized, though.

3boysstampin' 10-26-2007 06:12 PM

I can't imagine having drawers floor to ceiling filled with stamping stuff. That's almost overwhelming--ok, I'm just a tad jealous too! lol! I'm just hoping for a finished basement someday!

Katie018075 10-26-2007 06:52 PM

She should really think about going unmounted...;)

Acceber 10-26-2007 06:58 PM

Holy moly! I can't even begin to imagine the $$$$$$. Oh my gosh. Seriously at least triple what my LSS carries.

knightrone 10-26-2007 07:02 PM

I would be too overwhelmed with all the choices to get any work done. I would be exhausted by the time I found what I wanted. I need to show this to my dh though, he thinks I have alot!!

Duckwaddlequack 10-26-2007 07:27 PM

WOW! Sombody come pick me up off the floor, I fell out of my chair!!!!http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/shocked019.gif

Wow!! It's very overwhelming. I don't think I would be creative at all in that room. She must really love stamping...or shopping....

Could you imagine the time and $$$ in EZ mount that it would take to unmount that massive amount of rubber goodness????? Then again, with the $$$ invested in the iris carts, I don't think that would be an issue. Holy Cow-a-rama.

lesliespringer 10-26-2007 08:33 PM

Thanks for the laugh! I needed it!!

I think I just might have fun in a room like that! Does anyone want to join me? I will bring the chocolate:p

serialpurrs 10-26-2007 09:24 PM

I like the thought of having that many stamps. Don't like the idea about having to keep track of them or trying to find something when in the mood for a specific project.

Really, really, really like the size of her room. The one I am currently in have windows on two walls and two doors on one wall. Only gives me on regular wall. Unfortunately that wall is a short wall and the open door takes up part of that.

*dreams about that big open space in the basement just ready to be converted, but which isn't close to the top of the list of things to get done*

*sigh*

SuperCat 10-26-2007 09:46 PM

Wow, I'm just in shock. And, I too, will have to share that with my DH since he thinks I have too much. I pale in comparison!

picklescards 10-27-2007 01:37 AM

I've been told my stamp collection is excessive as I have over a 1000 ...... I feel so much better now that maybe I am not such a shopaholic.

Quixotic 10-27-2007 02:04 AM

Good grief! Have to say, with that much stuff I think I might be more overwhelmed than creative! Awesome though!

Muckyfingers 10-27-2007 02:24 AM

If I had that many stamps, I'd get them insured.... and indexed :)

Sorry, the board didn't want to post once so you got 3 of me - apologies!

Muckyfingers 10-27-2007 02:41 AM

Apologies for multiple posts - still getting used to this :)

se_stamper 10-27-2007 03:17 AM

I keep that link handy for those days I get the "eyeroll" when "another" box shows up.

Of course, he then says "well, you know, it's not a competetion, you don't have to try and pass her"

Oh well....

mrs_hawkins 10-27-2007 05:52 AM

Wowser!! I have that much space, but not even 1/10th of the stamps, maybe not even 1/100th of the stamps. I could have some fun in there.

stampinovice 10-27-2007 06:06 AM

I wouldn't know where to start. Wouldn't it be fun to be able to have access to all that? If she ever has a garage sale, I hope she posts it here first. I'd take a road trip for some of those goodies. I'm still trying to get my few bins organized.

valeriecathleen 10-27-2007 03:36 PM

That's not a room - it's a warehouse!

cmg.sweet 10-27-2007 03:47 PM

You could probably go there and sneak in and she wouldn't even notice for a few days!

craftyteaspoon 10-27-2007 03:51 PM

But where is her ink? I saw paper, stamps, Xyron, cutters but no ink. Hmm.

I couldn't function in that, just way to many things & choices. I awesome she has the stamps indexed in some way; I'd spend hours just looking through the index to figure out what stamp I might want to use.
