Pick a favorite paper, stick on a favorite photo...and go to town decorating the page. :)

It can be overwhelming, you could try choosing a layout you like, and fitting your photos to it...this helps a lot when I am stuck!

Well I can do that then, thanks for the advice :)

Something that helped me was to choose a limited topic for my first scrapbook. For example, the very first one I did was for my son's graduation. Since I was limiting it to just graduation, it was easier to choose pictures, papers, embellishments, etc. My second scrapbook was for my daughter's senior year, still limited in scope, but a little larger. Does this make sense? I found I was very overwhelmed with the idea of scrapbooking everything, so this worked for me. HTH

I recommend the following book:
The Big Picture... Scrapbook Your Life and a Whole Lot More (Spiral-bound)
by Stacy Julian (Author) (it is on Amazon - about $15).
The author recommends some great techniques and organizational ideas that are really good to get the creative juices flowing - especially if you aren't just interested in doing a basic picture-heavy chronologically geared book. She focuses more on helping you tell a story and using the pictures as part of that, as well as other creative ways to organize your books (by theme rather than just Chronologically). I think she has a blog too (or at least she did a couple of years ago). Good luck!

The Stacy Julian book helped me a lot too when I was first starting out. You can also check out the tips I have on my blog.
