I am desperate to try some of those beaded pens and would you believe I cannot find any of those clear microbeads in my town. I have driven around all morning to 8 shops and all of them have coloured ones and say their supplier doesnt have clear ones! Is there anywhere I can order them online maybe or if there are some more Aussie ladies on this board maybe they might know of somewhere in Australia I can get some!!
I was soooooooo hoping to make some this afternoon - but oh well no can do! :(
Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
but I buy mine from Pennywise.com
They have clear, and many other colors and the prices are O'so cheap.
She also has sticky tape and paper for trimming cards and making your pens.
HTH & tell the Queen that Cindy Lou Who sentcha, K
I'm on her beading list...
Hope you can manage to get some. If not, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help you out.

Don't be alarmed if you don't get a response from Suzanne over the weekend. She is away for a stamping weekend. She said any orders placed over the weekend would be processed on Wednesday. I also know she ships to Australia - I am also on her list and we have several Aussie members!

I don't mean to ask a silly question but.....SU clear micro beads are .8mm and the ones from pennywise are .5 mm. Is there a big difference in the size?? Would you be able to tell the difference??? Thanks for the help!

Hate to say it  but I haven't gotten the SU clear beads, only the pennywise ones, so I can't compare.
I do know that if the beads are too big they won't adhere well to stuff like beaded pens, but I don't know what is "too big". I've talked to 3 different people who bought beads at Michaels (bigger than the ones I have) and they had trouble with them falling off.
I have not had trouble putting the larger beads on a card, but did have some trouble on a pen----they would fall off if I picked at them. But for cards the larger ones are easier to see through - if you are covering an image with beads

I have only bought mine at Michaels (although I need to find a new source because I won't be shopping there any more -- but that's another story!) and I haven't had a bit of a problem with them staying on the pens. They're called "Tiny Glass Marbles" and I compared them with the SU ones and they are about twice the size, but are a lot clearer, IMO. To me, the SU beads looked like sand, if that makes sense. So the Pennywise beads are even smaller than the SU beads? I didn't think that was possible...
I used the Michael's ones on some pens and the SU ones on some others. I believe the Michael's ones were 8mm and the SU ones were 5mm. Both pens came out lovely, but the SU ones were more "sandy" and the Michael's ones were more crystal-like, if you know what I mean. I actually like the slightly larger ones - they feel really cool in your hand.
Also, be sure to keep your pens away from fuzzy sweaters! The other day I was wearing one of those super-fuzzy cheneille (sp??) sweaters and I happened to lean my arm on one of my pretty pens - it is ruined forever <sob>. There is just no way to get all that fuzz off it and it's very visible .
