This post has been sooooo fun to read! So nice to meet everyone!

I'm a SAHM to a wonderful "almost 12" year-old son named Kyle, and at 39 (really I am) I am also a fulltime medical transcription student. I absolutely LOVE it! My goal upon graduation this fall/winter is to work from home for a national transcription service. My previous career before being a SAHM and student, was as a medical office Administrative Assistant working for a group of Radiation Oncologists.

Today, June 30th, is my wedding anniversary (I know, I know.....why am I on SCS while I should be celebrating with my hubby?! - hee!). I've been married to my hero of a husband for 14 years, and this past weekend we celebrated with a romantic weekend on the Oregon coast. I'm originally from Southern CA (Palm Springs area). My hubby's career brought us to Oregon 8 years ago, and we couldn't be happier!

Three or 4 years ago, I used to be a demo for "the other stamping company"(CTMH)- ha! While my upline was very creative, her interpersonal skills and support were lacking. So.... feeling lost, I ended my stamping business after a year. I sooooooo miss being a demonstrator, and have always adored Stampin Up products. Someday when I can pay down my student loans, I just know I'm going to be an SU demonstrator. Until then, I feel VERY blessed to be a part of SCS. The kindness, support, and talent here are amazing!!

This is such a great thread! I realized I've posted here before but never really introduced myself either.
I recently graduated from college with a major in Biology and Pre-Veterinary Medicine and a minor in Chemistry. For the last 5 years I worked as a veterinary technician. One of the girls at that office invited me to a stampin Up workshop a year ago and I got hooked! Actually after the two of us got hooked... we got the whole office hooked on Stampin Up!
In January I decided to make a career switch (until I can convince them to let me into vet school!) to become a medical technologist. So in August I'll be in Hammond/Chicago area at my internship. For the summer I work in a hospital as a phlebotomist and a Med Technologist Student. I always think its funny when people ask how long I've been doing this since i have "student" on my nametag and I tell them 5 years. I never know if its comforting or not when i tell them... I used to draw blood on animals But it usually gets a laugh... especially when I tell them its easier... people don't try and bite you! Well.... generally.
My new job at the hospital is to get all THOSE girls addicted to Stampin Up! I brought the catalog in the other day and one of them reminded me of me when I first saw the catty. She was just floored and had allt hese ideas of all the things she wanted to make!!
My bf and I have been together for 3 years... waiting on a ring He works in the IT dept of WALSH group in Chicago... maybe I'll have to see about getting HIM a job at Stampin UP! Do you guys get employee discounts then!
The two of us also have a sort of photography business thats taken on a life of its own which is pretty scary really!

I am the parish secretary for our very small Episcopal church, a very part time job that I do from home for the most part. I've been a demonstrator since March 2003 and have loved every minute of it.

I have three kids, two girls (9 and 7) and a boy (5), have been married to my DH (high school shop teacher and blues musician) for 21 years at the end of July. I got my degree in art in 1984, have worked in libraries, book stores, and as a parts controller, production controller, PC Specialist, and finally Programmer at an automotive parts manufacturer until 9 years ago when I had my first child and quit.

Besides stamping and scrapbooking, I love knitting, reading English mystery novels and cook books, and singing.

Hi everyone...fun to hear about you all. I am also married to my HS sweetheart...going on 11 years. We celebrated the 16 year anniversary of our 1st date in May...I am WAY to young to be with the same man for that long!!! Mom to Emilie, 5 1/2, and Elizabeth, 3 at the end of July, who sound like they need to meet some of the other "saucy drama queens" out there!

I work part time teaching children's dance classes and managing my company's 2 Bay Area dance studios. I have danced since I was 3, so it is a great way to keep it going. I also tutor a 7th grader and choreograph musicals for community and high school theater groups. Getting ready to teach at a 3 week musical theater camp in a couple of weeks.

And, of course, I stamp!!! I am a demo and have a small but loyal group that I do workshops for every couple of months. Just enough to support my habit! Hoping to teach a couple of classes at a local community center in the Fall...hopefully I'll get some students!

Lived in San Jose, CA my whole life...in fact, we live 2 blocks away from my husband's childhood home.

Default What's do you do?

Hi. I am a OB nurse turned to SAHM four weeks after returning to work after my son was born. I have been married to my DH for 5 yaers this weekend and we have two amazing kids; Jacob is 3 and a half and Emma just turned 2. I started stamping in September of 2002. I went to my girlfriend from churchs SU! scrapbooking party, had my own then started demonstrating quickly after that. I was hooked. If not only for the discount, to get out of the house four nights a month. That is my goal and boy have I reached it. I give all my success of this "hobby" business to my lord. I also just started teaching first and second grade boys at our church on Wednesday night. They are a lot of fun but so full of energy. I am just getting a taste of what is soon to come with my son. I am glad to have found SCS, and am addicted to it as everyone here also is. Ronda

This is such a great thread! It is so fun to hear about everyone.

My husband and I own a custom cabinet manufacturing company. I do all the office work with the exception of designing and he does the rest.

I have a 15 year old that will be driving in a few months, I agree, we need a forum just to support all of us with teen drivers! Also have a beautiful Golden Retreiver that is a year and a half old and two cats.

I am a new SU demo, looking forward to hosting stamp camps and other fun workshops.

I too have never introduced myself so here it goes.

I work full-time as an enrollment technican for an insurance company. Have been there for 12 years. It's time for a change but I'm not sure what yet so I guess I will stay there until I figure it out. I have been married for 16 years & have two sons. Dylan is 9 (thinks he's 18 ) & Brett is 4 1/2 as he always tells anyone who asks. No, he is not named after Brett Farve but we are HUGH Packer fans.

I have been a SU addict for 3 1/2 years. I knew I was in deep when I would have trouble going to sleep at night after just having returned from a workshop, all excited about the projects we had just made or a new technique I learned. LOL I finally signed up as a demo last September. My UL always jokes that it took her a couple of years to get me to finally commit. I was always worried about making the $300 minimum but between myself & my two best customers, that is not a problem! I have only done a handfull of workshops but am hoping that will change in the near future. I would LOVE to do this full-time. That would be my ideal job. Then I wouldn't have to worry about having this site up on my computer & getting caught looking at it when I shouldn't be!

This was a great idea. Glad to get to know everyone a little more.

Wow ~ awesome thread!
My name is Melissa, just turned 36 last week, married for almost 4years to greatest guy ever. DH was born in Northern Ireland, so we just got back from a 6 month stay there. *Side note I always wanted to go there. I was a telecommuter for Nortel Networks doing various stuff for the eBusiness group and now I just got a job with Western Wireless (aka CellularOne) in Belluvue, WA in the Microwave Engineers group. No kids yet. I have been stamping for a littel over 3 years and scrapbooking for over 5 years. I will become a demo in July. SU is awesome.
I just have to say we are a very interesting group of women.

This is such a perfect thread! I have been married for over 18yrs to my husband, Russ. He just retired from the Nat'l Guard where he was a Blackhawk Helicopter pilot and is still working his real job as Engineering Area Manager at DuPont. We have 2 children, Erica, 16 (working toward her drivers license--yikes) and Justin, 13 1/2 (big surfer, skateboarder who has hair almost as long as mine). I was fortunate enough to stay home with them until Justin started school full time. We live on North Padre Island right on the water. We wakeboard, ski, and surf every weekend and many weekday evenings.
I am an RN at a Children's Hospital specializing in Neonatal ICU. I am PRN so I make my own schedule, usually working one to two night shifts a week. I love it. I actually work in EVERY dept and clinic in the hospital. I know everyone and don't feel I can ever get in a rut. It also allows for me to work around my Stampin' Up Workshops which is ideal. I have been a SU! demonstrator for Five years. If you are attending Convention, look for me walking across the stage.
Enough about me. Let's hear more from everyone!

Truly diverse group! I'm a Volunteer Extraordinaire (sp?). I'm a SAHM with my 4 year old daughter. I'm known in 2 schools for my volunteer work with teachers because of my 9 year old daughter. I am the Missions Chair, a Youth Leader AND a Lay Speaker with First United Methodist Church in Perry, FL. I was a Girl Scout Leader - turning those reins over to some other moms. I am a storyteller with the Taylor County Tale Tellers. I'm working on setting up a parents association for our local karate dojo - I'm a Karate Mom and a Soccer mom too! I am an SU Demonstrator for 3 years now - one of my favorite jobs - and sometimes I get paid doing it! AND I'm a wife celebrating our 14 years of marriage on 7/7. I used to volunteer with the state Division of Forestry when my hubby had a local job, but he's gotten a new title that requires him to work in the Forestry state office in Tallahassee. So, I stay busy "stampin' in the pines" of north Florida - along with everything else I do. I guess I'm not really a SAHM - I'm never home!

I'm an investment assistant at PNC Advisors. I work directly for 3 investment officers who are responsible for investing the money in people's trust funds and whatnot. So I split my time between trading in the stock market and checking out SCS!

Outside of work and stamping, I'm 28, single and a relatively new homeowner (just over a year). I was a music major in school and teach children's choir at my church. (And I think I just recently volunteered to lead our handbells choir, too....hm....I should doublecheck that just to be sure!)

Hi everyone!

I am Michele, a single mom of a 9 yr old boy named Jacob...but he prefers to be called Jake! I am a parts expediter for a large agricultural/construction equipment company in Wisconsin (blue and red tractors). It's quite a boring and monotnous (sp?) job, so stamping is my creative outlet! I have been a demo since last August when it was 15% off starter kits! I signed up to support my habit! I'm my best customer...I'd hate to see how much my collection is worth..although looking at my CC statement I can probably guess pretty good! I work with my upline which is so much fun! We bring in our creations into work almost daily and make extras for eachother! We do stamp camps together too.

I have about 1 year of college left and I will have my bachelor's degree in Business Admin and Marketing (double majors are a lot of work!). I've taken a couple years off as it was getting to be too much with my full time job and full time mom job!

That's me...I'll try and get someone to take a picture of me this weekend so I can post it! I get my hair 'chopped off' tomorrow (about 8 inches!), so I want to make sure I have a pic with my new 'do' on here

It's fun to read about everyone!

Hi Ladies or should I say fellow addicts

I have two awesome kids, Felicia 17 (you will survive the new driving even though I swore there was no possible way I would) Justin 14 and Jesse 11. I have been married to the love of my life Randy for 10 yrs(yep, second time around) he owns a concrete construction company. I am an RN and work full time or sometimes up to 60 hrs per week in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit...I love taking care of premature babies

I have been stamping for 2 years and a Demonstrator since last March. I went to convention last year and will never miss it again. I too signed up for the discount but found that I love doing in home parties and also just teaching new techniques.

Stamping has been a great down time for me even though I love my job, it is very stressful. Also my daughter has endometriosis (since she was 14) and has to endure pain daily along with multiple surgeries. Its amazing when all is quiet how you can get away and relax......Just Stamping.

Thanks to all of you for providing us all with a great website

Shonda

After teaching 4th/5th grade for 12 years, I 'retired' 5 years ago to be a sahm to my then 7 1/2 yo son and 3 and 4 yo daughters. Life is a lot calmer, but not as neat and clean as I thought it would be when I was no longer working outside the home!

My dh of 19 years and I live in central Indiana, just a bit south of Indy in the home I grew up in. we are active in our church and I am a Brownie leader.

I have been stamping for 2 1/2 years, (although I spend more time here than stamping!) but am not yet a demo. I feel the itch to sign up, but that could mean trouble and I'd blame it all on YOU!

It is so nice to get to know all of you a little better!

I work for the county in which I live, a somewhat boring job. I would love to stay home with my children, Ashley Marie (6) and Tyler Jay (3) Maybe if I get my stamping business going it could be a possibility!

My husband of 12 years, Corey is a successful recruiter for the National Guard. His career has taken us many places that we would have otherwise never gone.

Been stamping and scrapping for many years, and finally decided to try and make my hobby work for me just this past March.

I am a RETIREE! I left my job as a Facilities Manager in 2000 and moved to the middle of nowhere with my DH and the last kid at home (Mike the Cat, now age 20!!) The other three kids 30, 27, and 23 moved out long ago I became a SU! demo'er 2 years ago and have brought the joy of stamping to my community! "The community" is a couple hundred other retirees at Lake Almanor. Our county is very rural, boasting only 2 traffic signals! (an hour drive from where I live!). I love this website - a place where everyone is the same age

hugs & cardstock,

Default Greetings!

I've never posted before but thought I should after getting to know all of you through your posts. Such fun! Have been "lurking" and enjoying your artistry for months now. Thanks for all the inspiration!

I'm an employment lawyer -- I defend colleges, universities, and some corporations against claims of harassment, discrimination, wrongful discharge, defamation, etc. Always great stories and unbelievable characters. But, if I win the lottery, you can bet that I'll opt for stamping full-time instead!!

I've been stamping for about 8 years but didn't hear of Stampin' Up! until 2002. Hosted a workshop in April 2003 and then signed up to be a demo the next month -- for the discount, of course. Like so many of you, though, I find I love doing the workshops. I especially love when I get folks who are convinced they aren't creative and, by the end of the workshop, they can't wait to show their friends & family what they made!

Looking forward to attending my first convention in just a few more days. But who's counting.....?

I was wondering how many other nurses there were! I'm Connie & I just recently discovered SCS and it is literally at the top of my favorites list! Anyone else in Kansas? Married to Letter Carrier DH for 25 years, an RN for 24, Mom-II to Kevin (33) and Roger (29), and mom to Dusty, the Maine-Coon tabby, (almost 6 who was rescued from our satellite office at about 5 wks of age). I have the job I always dreamed of...just took me about 20 years to find it...large Family Practice office, working with a funny group of folks who make it a joy to go there. I'm also in charge of the "Cookie Ministry" at church. My now DIL got me into stamping a few years ago, right before she signed up as demo. I was doing CM at the time. I still like to scrapbook but stamping has become my new obsession...we're waiting for an order to come in now! I love trying new techniques. I hope to post some stuff but am concerned because most of what I have is not 100% SU and I don't want to offend. My stamps are SU but not all the paper is since I'm trying to use up my stash of CM paper. Maybe someone can let me know if that's OK. Am looking forward to participating in swaps, etc.

Hi all,
I went to college at the University of Dallas, Univ. of Central Arkansas and Univ. of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. I am a respiratory therapist at Arkansas Children's Hospital (10 years November!). I have been stamping now for about 10 months and LOVE it. I never thought this would be something I'd enjoy, I just went to a party because my friend invited me. It has been very therapeutic and it's a great creative outlet for someone who doesn't consider themself creative. I also sing in my church choir and love to travel. I love this sight and I've gotten so many wonderful ideas from your work. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm Deborah (or debbie). Retired from the Navy in 1998. I was a communications secretary for 14 years of the time I was in.

Single mom since 2000 to two awesome kids, Chase (11) and Brianne (just turned 9).

After goofing off for three years, I took a job as a health support technician in a school. I spent 7 hours a day taking temperatures, asking kids if they have vomited or if they are bleeding, calling parents, giving meds and sending them back to class as soon as I can!

I do more stamping between kids than I do at home. I occasionally sell the cards I make to coworkers and have met a few great ladies who are now addicted to stamping!

Demonstrator for a year and maybe one day, I'll own my own stamping store here in Pensacola.

Default Many hats here...

First off, I'm the mother of 3 beautiful children, 16, 11 & 3. Secondly, I homeschool them all. We also have a family owned and operated business I assist my dh with by fielding calls, typing contracts, invoices, collection duties at times or whatever else needs to be done. Since I'm home all the time, for the most part, I also needed an outlet with the girl's to look forward to, so I joined Stampin Up!

I also volunteer as a speaker in a local program at the high school level in an abstinence based program sponsored by a local group of very caring folks. Prior to that I used to be the director of Crisis Pregnancy Center.

Motherhood keeps me busy and my job description each day is quite varied, not to mention my work load. It's the most rewarding and challenging position I've ever held. I'd take it to the corporate america track I once travelled anytime.

Cindy

I'm new to this posting stuff so hope I get it right! It's been so interesting reading about everyone here!
I retired last year after 23 years as a Military Air Traffic Control Supervisor. My husband is ATC as well(still working!) and we have 5 children. Our daughters are 21, 10 and 9 and sons 19 and 13 we also have 2 cats. I now work part time (12 days a month) as a Harassment and Employment Equity advisor. I love the flexibility of choosing my own hours and not having to supervise adults!!
I was introduced to stamping 2 years ago and was instantly hooked! After six months of stamping I became a demo and my own best customer! I totally love this job! I hold workshops twice a week in my home in my slippers not military boots! I get to tuck my children into bed while I am "at work" instead of telling grown people to clean up after themselves in their workspace! Best of all I get to go to exciting places to stamp and those places don't include far off and not so exotic places! It just doesn't get any better than this!

Default What's your "job"?

Hi,
I'm Suzanne & was just introduced to this site about 2 weeks ago by Chris Fuhs! Thanks, Chris! Now my housework will NEVER get done!

I am a veterinary technician (although at the hospital I work at we prefer to be called nurses) at an awesome practice in Bloomington, MN. I live on the opposite end of the metro area and hate the commute in the winter, but am drawn to the cutting edge way of practicing veterinary medicine. Did you all know any type of dental work done in our mouths can be done in the 4-leggeds mouths?

I am a lab geek at heart, but lately have been learning the world of dentistry. I spent 14 hours monitoring anesthesia for 5 dental surgeries today, am exhausted, have only been home for about 2 hours & haven't even spent any time with my own "kids" yet. I am mom to 2 american black dogs, Baron, 12, & Aspen, a very energetic 3, 3 cats, Tyson, 8, Calvin, almost 6, Simon, almost 4, and a chinchilla, Marvin (named after Messy Marvin from the commercials for Hershey's syrup), almost 5. They help keep me sane......most of the time!

I met my DH at our friends' wedding......his college roommate married my friend from kindergarten on......in Sept 1990, & were engaged Dec 14, 1990! We were married in Aug 91, so will be celebrating our 13th anniversary this year.

I originally went to school to be an elem teacher, but the kids figured out they could walk all over me so I went back to school to become a CVT. I prefer the animals to kids any day.....even when I get bit by a crabby cat!

The stamping bug bit me really hard about 18 months ago. Someone I worked with started making cards to send out to our clients (we send cards to them for just about anything.....thanks for the goodies, sympathy, weight loss for our overweight patients, etc) and I thought, hmmmm, I can do that! My stamp collection at that point was pathetic, but it didn't stay that way! I found ebay (evil site for addicts) & found my UL. She was selling last year's SAB sets after SAB & I was hooked. I had a workshop, only had 1 person show up, but had $500 in orders (mostly ME!), and decided to sign up in Aug. I had a slow start, but had a GREAT SAB. I have converted several coworkers & they help me support my habit. I have monthly stamp camps at my house, usually only have 2 or 3 campers but we have a blast! They can't wait for the new catty & are talking about July's SC already & June's was last Sat! I have slowly been taking over the family/tv room in our house as my stamping room. Check out the pictures of it in my gallery. Nothing matches, but everything is functional & that's all that counts!

Default Here I am

WOW! What a cool thread.

It's so neat reading about all of you. I'm new here and I've been enjoying looking at everyone's projects. It's nice to get to know more about each of you.

I'm on vacation this week, just so you won't wonder why the heck I'm not at work. LOL

I am the Director of Production at a sub-contract rehabilitation workshop in upstate NY.

We do packaging and assembly jobs for many companies in the northeast and one company in CA. Our approximately 200 workers are emotionally, physically or mentally disabled. It's a great job and I've just hit my 30th anniversary today! That's so hard to believe. Times flies when you love your job. LOL

That said, there are many stressful times at work as well. The responsibility of keeping 200 people in work, meeting customer deadlines and making sure that quality is not sacrificed to quantity can wear on a person sometimes.

That is why stamping has been such a God send to me. I was a scrap booker when some friends at work took me to their monthly SU club meeting. I was hooked from the start. Had to have everything as soon as possible! So, it wasn't long before I became a demonstrator myself.
My dining room is now a stamping room. LOL

My DH is a tour coach bus driver, so I am often home alone with our three cats and our Keeshonde dog. Our children are grown and most live about an hour away. We have five grandchildren.

I am so grateful to have found Splitcoast Stampers and have someone to share my passion of stamping with. I absolutely LOVE to see everyone's artwork and have learned much in my short time here.

So nice to meet you all!

God bless,
Nan in NY

I am a Union Payroll Specialist for the 2nd largest food wholesaler in the world. It's a great job, very challanging!

I have two little boys, Slayton age 4, and Riley age 2. Both are monsters!

My Hubby is a SAH Dad. We are very fortunate to have that opportunity.

I became a SU! Demo in January and am loving every minute of it!

This is such a fun thread, I'll just have to join in.
I'm JoAnn and I'm a microbiologist in a medical lab that does both human and veterinary work. I used to love my job but it's been really stressful right now due to short staffing. I think I just need to get out of the management part of it and get back to the part I love. And the workforce really needs people like Andrea to graduate with her degree in medical technology! Come work with me when you graduate, Andrea - we can talk stamping all day while we work!
I have two boys ages 6 and 3. They are active, happy kids that love each other greatly between all the fights! They are tons of fun! My husband of 8 years is a SAHD while he pursues a degree in computer science. He's great about accepting my stamping stuff all over the house and about the amount of time I spend on the computer at this site!!!!
Stamping has been my obsession since 1997 when my sister introduced my to Stampin Up. I quickly signed up to be a demo, but gave it up in 2000 because it was just too much with working FT, having my first child, and my customer base had just fizzled out. I still love SU and love the creative outlet it gives me. It's SOOO different than my "real job." Anyhow, I sure wish I was a demo again now!! But my life is even busier now, so I'll just have to wait a few more years.... Thanks to Splitcoast and all the wonderful people here, I can still get my SU fix.[/quote]

Hi there

Let's see I am a Forensic Scientist for the State of VA - My field is Latent Print Analysis - so I examine items of criminal evidence for the presence of finger prints, palm prints and even sometimes foot prints and *hopefully* effect the identification of the bad guy. I also assist in the identification of the deceased. Let me tell ya'll it is not as exciting as CSI portrays it to be.

Other than that I am the mommy to 3 year old twin girls - Nora and Julia and wife to my college sweetheart, Dan - who says good things don't happen at Fraternity mixers

I got involved with SU because a twin mom friend of mine became a demo and had an Open House - I went and that was the end for me - I had to have everything...but I have showed restraint....I did convert my scrapping buddies to stamping buddies though...it's lonely to stamp alone...

Not nearly as exciting as some of your careers, but right now I'm at home with my DD Megan (7) and DS Matt (5). When I'm not stamping & scrapping, I also volunteer as the Library Director at our church library. It is huge and takes a lot of my time. I also spend a lot of time at my kids schools. Well that's what makes me busy and happy. Thanks for sharing everyone, very interesting to read about all of you & your busy lives.

I have 3 children and my husband of almost 2 years has 3 children. Our oldest is 44 years old and our youngest is 22 years old. We have together 10 grandchilden ranging from 21 to 7 years old. I work full time as the Office Manager for a large structural steel fabricator in Florida and my husband owns a Barber Shop. He is retired but still cut hair 3 days a week for now. In 5 years I plan on quitting my job (I'm younger) and travel with him. I have been a demonstrator for 2 1/2 years and do it most for fun. Linda

It's so neat to see what a varied group of ladies we have! Ya'll sound so interesting!

I'm "just" a SAHM to 2 beautiful children. Ben is 4 and Olivia is 18 months (that's her in my avatar). I've been married to my college sweetheart Doug for almost 7 years. Before staying at home I was a school librarian. I had to laugh at Irene saying how hard it was for her and fellow librarians to stamp off the edges....I just was looking at a page I has randomly stamped to cut up for backgrounds. I 'randomly' stamped my flowers in perfect diagonal rows!

I have been a demo for 2 1/2 years. Was a scrapbooker for a few years when I decided to make my own Christmas cards. It was my first attempt at stamping and I had a blast! I signed up to be an SU demo 3 months later without every having been to a workshop. It started out as a hobby - to support my craft habit - and now it's doing well as a little business.

Enough rambling! Back to stamping!
