Default Dallas - need info on scrap stamp stores in Dallas or San Antonio

Ok - we are either going to Dallas or San Antonio tomorrow and will be there for one or 2 days. Are there any good stamp/scrap stores in either of these towns and is there any events going on this weekend? Any festivals or anything special. Also - any recommendations on what to visit (besides the Alamo in SA) or do there?

Thanks!

Vicki

Will you be in Dallas proper or somewhere outside the actual city? That will help narrow down which scrap stores you might want to go to.

Okay well I'm north so I can help you out there. There's the Scrapbook Warehouse in Lewisville. You'll just take 35 north to Lewisville and it's just North of George Bush (190 Tollway). If you're in the Plano/Frisco area there's Recollections in Frisco at 121 and Preston. It's on the Northeast quadrant of 121 next to JoAnn's (you could kill two birds with one stone there!). Then in Plano there's the Scrapbucket on the Southeast corner of Custer and Parker. I like the Scrapbucket because it sells embellishments a la carte. You can buy as many or as few as you want. And they have a pretty good selection of paper. You can probably google all of them and get exact directions.

If you go into Dallas there's a bunch of stuff to do. You could go to the West End Marketplace which has a bunch of shops and restaurants. You could go to the Dallas Aquarium. I've never been there but I've heard it's great. I really need to take DS sometime. You can always visit the Kennedy Memorial. Or take the McKinney Avenue trolley ride that will take you down McKinney Avenue which is in the heart of downtown.

I just looked up on the convention and visitor's bureau site and it looks like the big fireworks show is tomorrow night at Fair Park. That might be fun.

Anyway, that's just a few ideas. Hope that helps!

Wink

I've never been there but when I was researching stamp stores in the Austin area, I kept getting leads on Stamp Antonio. http://stampantonio.com/

They are hosting one of the amuseapalooza events, so they must be swell, right?

If you are going to be on the road between these two towns at all, I would really recommend you stop at Salado (north of Georgetown on I-35) at Stamp Salado. It is on Main Street, and it is WONDERFUL! It is small, a store that used to be a little house, but they have lots and lots and lots of stamps. I've got a pic of the outside of it on my blog, if you are interested.

If you are close at all, you would be happy you stopped at Stamp Salado!

HTH, good luck and have fun!
