Help!!! How do you get you canvas background stamp to ink up without streaks? I have tried everything I can think of and I still have steaks when I stamp it. I figured someone out there may be able to help me out. Thanks.
I ink it up with a brayer and it works great. I also put the stamp upright and then put the paper on top of the stamp and press down with my fingers making sure the paper comes into contact with the full stamp...so far works great for me...

I turn my canvas background stamp so that the stamp is facing up. I then open my stamp pad and smoosh it onto the canvas stamp. I go all over. I notice streaks and lines on it. When I am all finished inking it up, I take my stamp pad and go over the canvas stamp in a circular motion or rub it back and forth. This blends in all of the lines and streaks. Works for me everytime.
I use the brayer as well and then I stand up and push down on the stamp with both hands all over the stamp and I don't seem to get the streaks. I am too shy to try the butt stamping as of yet...

I too use my brayer. I use 2 of them.
I cut my card fronts(usually 8 of each color) lay them on the inked stamp that I've ink with my brayer, then use a clean brayer to transfer the ink to my paper.
I do several different colors of ink and card stock. So that I have a supply of done one's.

I realize this thread was on how to ink the canvas background stamp without streaks, but sometimes I purposely ink the stamp so that I get all kinds of lines in it and light & dark canvas grid to add to my collage effect!
I just made a bag book for my sister for our birthday and I used the canvas stamp in it I just used the brayer on it and then laid my card stock on top and rubed it with my hand I just love the canvas stamp here is a pic of it.
I do what Dragginflystamper does.....I drag my ink pad lengthwise across the stamp. Then i lay my c/s down onto the inked stamp and use my fingers to apply some pressure. It's worked just fine for me.
I use the brayer to ink up my Canvas Background stamp and then I lay it face up and put the cardstock on top. Then I put a piece of copy paper on top and use the same brayer to get an even image.. Works for me everytime. Works for all the background stamps.. I can't seem to get an even image with using my hand but the brayer works great.
I use a brayer to ink my background stamps, too. If you're getting streaks with the brayer, you haven't rolled it enough times to even out the ink. Keep rollin'!
