Hee hee... my upline/sidelines will probably disagree with me, but FANCY CHANDELIERS (black silhouettes on bright colors) seem to keep popping up... and SU has a chandelier set in their new catalog. My sidelines/upline all hated it and since I was the only one who liked it, they challenged me to change their minds.
This week, while shopping at Michaels, I saw a few Chandelier things- Halloween decorations & notecards (and of course I bought the notecards to send to my groups as a NYAHNYAH! lol!) - so maybe that is a trend. I would describe it as an "edgy, graphic shabby chic".
yep chandeliers, I sensed it a few months ago. I kept seeing some here and there and then they had these AWESOME notebooks that were 2 for $1 with them on it.
I bought one from Stamping Bella about a month ago and now the one in the SU set looks really similar (not a bad thing) to the one on my notebook from M's.
If you haven't checked out Unity Stamps then I would pay them a visit (they are a member company here) they have such a wide variety of images with high quality and great prices.
Also nestabilities are the bomb! If they weren't hot a year ago, it seems I started to see them around that time.
I could tell ya', but, by the time I did, it all would be out and sumpin' else would be hot.
:p
*chuckle*
Gee, Julie, I know I can tell you that getting a response from you is still pretty *hot*! LOL
And I have loved the chandelier responses from everyone - I hadn't seen 'em yet. Too cool. And those russian nesting dolls stamps are da bomb. Way cool!

Well, I have been experiencing hot flashes of the menopausal kind . . .
ROTFLMAO! ;)

Actually a lot of companies released chandelier images a whole year and a half ago at Winter CHA, but, it appears to be a trend that has been slow to
really take hold (?)--just by my own personal observations . . . At any rate, it'll be interesting to see just how much it surges, now that it is finally beginning to pick up . . . they are quite elegant!

I have old magazines from Stampington that have quite a few of the chandelier images that I saw in Mike's yesterday. I guess trends circle around every now and again.

Do you guys think scallops are here to stay for a while, or is that trend almost done?
In, out, makes no never mind ta' me, baby! I'm gonna keep on scallopin'!
But, I'm never on with the trends; you can usually find me runnin' off in some other direction totally clueless! That's me--always unfashionable, always late. ROTFLMBO!

That nesting doll was too cute for words, and her cat with the bird on it's head just killed me. It was too cute; I'm dead now.
----okay, less craziness now------
I love the chandeliers, too. I had to have the one from Impress and have only used it once. I did see a phenomenal card in the gallery made with it, it made me want to put my stamp away because I'll never in my lifetime make anything that cool.

I'll second that! I just looooove scallops!! Plus, I have stamp sets from when I first started stamping 5 years ago that I still love using!!
Copics or prismacolor markers for coloring, nestabilities, cuttlebug machines, Stampendous Fluffles and Ollie for Christmas (new clear stamp sets) and Penny Black stamps are very hot.

I am sick of moose (mooses?), birds, owls, monkeys, cupcakes, and trailing branches....but they may all be new to you.....very popular with lots of stamp companies. Other wish list things: Copic alcohol markers if you have the big bucks and other items mentioned already, Fiskars "Threading Water" edge punch (scallops with holes), Martha Stewart edge punches, Prismacolor pencils with baby oil or Gamsol for blending.

nesting dolls? way to cool! hadn't seen them - except on my shelf - before the link. who has stamps? where do you ladies see these trends coming? i look at galleries, blogs, etc. i must be blind. i thought it was owls and squirrels and maybe the chandelier thing (heard about more than seen that one). or maybe i'm just behind! always running to keep up - is that a trait of the last child in the family??? LOL
P.S. nesting dolls are the Russian dolls that have 2 separate pieces (divided 1/2 between head and feet) and contain another doll inside. They're usually made of wood and are graduated in size - the largest opens up to the 2nd largest which holds the next and so on. They are usually painted as people but not always. My set is a family - dad, then mom, then son, daughter, etc. which is common. sometimes they have a theme - like Russian leaders since the revolution, etc. did that help any?

Reason: answer a question
I would love it if squirrels were the next "big" thing! Hah!
I love this thread! It's so fun seeing what your sharp eyes pick up on!
I was re-reading and saw the desire for squirrel stamps, so I'm chiming in with one I ran across. That one at Kitchen Sink Stamps is nice. Here is another option, more cartoony; if you're into funny, you may like it: http://www.newcleardollarstamps.com/...s?sfs=176996d9
If my link doesn't work, it's at clear dollar stamps. Hope you enjoy!
I am kind of over the chandelier kick I really went nuts with Hambly chanedlier stuff last year. I think deer and cutesy folk art/fairy book looks with trees etc type things are hot, or it could just be me liking that stuff. I am thinking about October Afternoon detours - I got it ALL - stamps, paper, rubber charms, rub ons etc lol. LOVE
I am using larger pieces of felt this year. sewing on felt (sewing in general) has been hot for a while but is really taking off lately - its everywhere it seems....
Me! Pick me!
I dunno, maybe it's because they don't seem flexible enough? I look at them and can't think of a single thing to do.
Anyway, new(ish) hotness seems to be Nesties, JustRite, Dew Drops, Copics and CB embossing folders. I'm not usually 'in style' IYKWIM, but I just realized that I have some of *all* of these! D'oh!

I can't believe I saw this thread.....I had a bad accident last Nov. and haven't stamped since.....I finally got back on SCS a few weeks ago and I was thinking of asking the same question....it seems the nestabilities are hot...but for the life of me I can't understand how to get the embossed image..I've watched the video at Wizard and it doesn't show that...can someone explain or PM me!!! I'm looking for anything to get me inspired and stampin again!!! Found a good deal on the Wizard.....so what nestabiliteis do I want???? Hope this isn't hijacking!!!
Not a chandelier fan. Don't understand what you would use a chandelier card for! "Thank you for the lighting. It was great to see you!" I don't know. It just doesn't do it for me.
LOVE scallop everything! I hope that style is here to stay!
From the new SU catalog, it looks like "organic" is in --- flowers that are kind of "mod" looking.
In fashion, I'm noticing a lot of bright colors this season -- bright yellows in particular. And again, kind of mod clothing too. Swing jackets with big buttons...ah, but I digress.
Copic markers fer shur. Anything that can be colored in with Copics.
Be sure to go blog hopping to check out the latest styles as well.
Thanks for listening!
