What are your favorite things in the Fall CTMH catalog?

I am going to a CTMH party on Wednesday and I am looking at the catalog for the first time. I have never been to a party or seen their catalog until now.
So, what are you favorites?

Clear Stampin'Lady 10-20-2006 06:16 PM

Welcome to the world of Close To My Heart! :) My favorite in the new fall catty?? That's a really hard question.

I love the new E-Sized Alphabet sets. They are AWESOME! I have all three. They come on a 8 x 10 sheet and are the perfect size for scrapbook pages.

But, I also love the paper flowers. I just made a card today using them.
I also like the bigger brads, new ribbon rounds, stickstock, and okay I'll admit it...I LOVE IT ALL! :D Ha, Ha, Ha!

I know I wasn't much help!

SORRY!
Have a great weekend and Happy Stampin'

SamanthaJDesigns 10-20-2006 06:18 PM

They have some cute new flower stamps sets I want. They also have those cute paper flowers they just came out with.

PolarBear 10-20-2006 06:21 PM

The stamp of the month for October is really cute.

colee_dupont 10-20-2006 06:29 PM

Oh! I love the new E sized alphabets!!! I'm planning on purchasing one at my hostess club this month! Also love the paper flowers and chipboard they have now! And, they have some super cute scrapbook kits out, too!!! Gosh, my wish list is a mile long!!!

Clear Stampin'Lady 10-20-2006 06:31 PM

Oh yeah...forgot about the Stamp Of The Month...LOVE IT TOO! :D

If you want the Stamp of the Month you have to get it before the end of the month - then it gone!

The NEW stamp of the month program is AWESOME. Spend $25 you get the set for 25% OFF. Spend $50 you get it for 50% off. Spend $75 you get it for 75% off. AND BEST OF ALL: Spend $100 and you will get it for FREE!!!!!

sunnysnowflake 10-20-2006 06:34 PM

Is the SOTM on the website?
The paper flowers do look very cool. And I thought about the E stamps for my mom who scrapbooks.

Clear Stampin'Lady 10-20-2006 06:55 PM

Yes - it's on there...

On the home page - on the right there's a box that says Stamp of the Month "Autumn Splendor". That's it. If you want to shop for it...go to shop online and at the top of the list that pops up you'll see Stamp of the Month. Just click on it and you can see it.

Happy Stampin'

Actually a friend is having a party so I will order there. We met through a SU group we belong to. I told her I was signing up to set TAC and she said she is thinking about selling CTMH. Isn't that funny?

That's great!! I was referring to the posts where you directed to someone's personal website. I hope you have a great time at your party!

I love the big brads (I have to get them in every season), love the ribbon and the textured two toned cardstock ~ :p

K. Benko 10-20-2006 09:40 PM

The textured two toned cardstock is beautiful. Different color on each side. If its green then a darker green on one side and lighter on the other - great for layering with. The Cherish book is a must.......The acryllic stamps are wonderful - you can see what you are doing and where you are putting them.

ahhh, I see. I am blonde! DH reminds me everyday, well actually several times a day. :)

HeatherHolbrook 10-21-2006 06:54 AM

I agree with everyone on the paper flowers and bigger brads! And the textured cs is so cool because it has the white core (like the regular cs) so you can tear and sand it for a neat distressed look! I also just got the Vintage Christmas stamp set and it is awesome, one of my faves!!
Have fun at the party!!

kristransue 10-21-2006 07:02 AM

Has anyone gotten the twill or linen that you can stamp on? I am interested but wanted some feedback.

speanburg4 10-21-2006 09:58 AM

I have to second the bigger brads and paper flowers. I got the daisy ones last month and just ordered the sunflowers and the autumn bigger brads last week. I can't wait to play with them. They also have some really neat hinges and photo hangers. I used some of the hinges for my coaster frames. Have fun at your party!

Korillian 10-21-2006 12:31 PM

I love all of CTMH's chipboard. They have ribbon slide chipboard new this catty!

Can you tell me anything about their chipboard alphas? I bought some from another company, and when I tried to remove the letters, they would not break free from the webbing easily and I ended up mutilating the letter just trying to get it free--even when I tried using an Xacto knife to separate it,

Given the frustration, I'll prolly throw the whole package away . . . :(

I realize that they're not that expensive, but I don't wanna purchase another package only to have the same frustration . . .

That said, I just received a copy of this catalog in the mail today, and 'bout went into cardiac arrest! WOW!

I love love love the art style of the Coffee Shop and Glistening Snow sets--And, I went bonkers over the "Just Chillin' "paper and die cut stickers--they look so AWESOME!!!!!

Their Stamps of the Month program is such a cool and neat idea!

The new Paper Flowers, Ribbon Rounds, and Window Charms--so SPIFFY!!!

What a fun, and fabby catalog! The colors on the cover are gorgeous and the artwork inside is very good!

I've had their entire Originals Card Confidence Program for a few years now and find that I still turn to it quite frequently. It's been a good investment for me.

Have fun at the party!

Skittl1321 10-21-2006 01:37 PM

I love CTMH's acrylic blocks. They have the best ones on the market- I just wish they were a bit more affordable.

Other than that, I haven't seen much of there stuff.

DaphD 10-21-2006 01:37 PM

twill

I just got a chance to use the twill in our monthly stamp group and loved it! I can't wait to get mine in and use it!

So how are they different than others on the market?

HeatherHolbrook 10-21-2006 02:39 PM

Kristina- I have used the twill stick stock and love it! I've only stamped on it, haven't printed it on the computer yet though. It stamps really well, I've stamped some pretty detailed images and they look great. It frays pretty easy for a neat distress edge. I'll try to post some of my cards with it soon!

Julie- all of our chipboard comes of the "sheet" really easily, in fact they usually fall off on their ow:). It's white and a medium thickness, not too thin, not super thick, and it takes inks and embossing really well.

I have every CTMH chipboard set in the catty and they have seperated quite nicely, even the alpha. It is much smaller than the SU! set, though. But I like it, the shape and the size. I would definitely recommend it.

Yes, I forgot about the Originals Card Program. I love this, too! So many different card styles and sizes, you'll always find something to inspire!

Suzastampin 10-21-2006 04:20 PM

Sunnysnowflake,
The CTMH acrylic blocks feel just like a wooden block in hand. They are the same thickness as a wood block, and they have the rounded handle grip on them. They also have an etched line along the bottom for straight placement of letters. I had another brand when CTMH switched to the acrylics. The brand I had was about 1/2 the thickness of the CTMH, had sharp corners and rough edges. My hands used to hurt with them. But, the CTMH ones have nice smooth edges and I can stamp all day with them!

My personal favorite from the fall catalog is the Stickstock Twill, Linen and Vellum - its sized so that it can go through a printer. You can fray the Twill.

I am also very much liking the bigger brads and E sized alphas

sunnysnowflake 10-26-2006 12:57 PM

I found it very interesting that the catalog was only fall/winter. If you want other colors do you have to wait until spring and summer?
I got the acrylic blocks - they ARE wonderful! Thanks for the suggestion. I also got the snowflake set. I am a sucker for snowflakes and those were cute.
We made a little 6 x 6 scrapbook page. That was fun.

Clear Stampin'Lady 10-26-2006 01:32 PM

Hi! I am glad you had fun at the party. :D About the catalogs -- CTMH releases 3 NEW IDEA BOOKS a year. There is a Fall/Winter Idea Books, a Spring Idea Book, and a Summer Idea Book. All 3 books can be ordered out of throughout the year. So if you want something to scrapbook summer pages with, you may want to see a Summer Idea Book. I am sure the consultant that did the party you went to has these other books for you to look at.

Three books a year is awesome! You get to see the latest and greatest in NEW products 3 times! I love it!! All of the products CTMH has -- Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter items -- can be found on CTMH websites.

I hope this helps!

HAPPY STAMPIN'!!!

No, you don't have to wait until spring to get those colors. On pages 10-14, the complete color palette is shown. All products from the Spring, Summer and Fall/Winter catalog are available until the end of Dec.

As a side note, we just learned that the retired list will come out on Nov. 1, instead of the previously announced Dec. 1. This will give everybody 2 months to get those retired products at their parties and through their consultant before they are moved to the MyCTMH websites.

I just started considering purchasing stamps outside of SU! - don't tell my demonstsrator!

So I went to CTMH website to see if their catalog was online like SU!'s, but I couldn't find one. Then I looked to see if I could order one online, but I couldn't do that either. So then I looked for a demonstrator. The closest one is 26 miles away, which in DC means an hour drive.

I kinda wanted to look through one first before actually buying a catalog. What if I don't like their stuff and wasted $10 on a catty? Where can I view some product?

pryor208 10-27-2006 05:36 AM

Same thing I was wondering. Where can I see a catalog online or somehow?

ArtofLove 10-27-2006 06:16 AM

An even better question - is the catty worth the money to buy it blindly?
JulieHRR had a lot of good things to say - so maybe it'd be worth it.

gmcbunny 10-27-2006 07:03 AM

You can view the new products at www.closetomyheart.com - select the tab that says whats new. It isn't everything, but it will give you an idea. Then if you are interested you can use the consultant locator to get a referral to a consultant in your area.

CTMH catalogs at most should be $3.95, some consultants though give them away or they give them away with an order of $xx.xx

Enjoy browsing :)

pryor208 10-27-2006 07:55 AM

Thanks for the tip on finding the new stuff on the site. I couldn't find anything at first. :) And for that cheap, I may have to hunt down a demo and get a catalog, even just to drool over for a while. ;)

CTMH has the BEST blocks, I love them. You have to get the block organizer, I just recently purchased it, and I’m really surprised that I like it as much as I do! I now have a place to store/protect my blocks. ;)

stampandscrap1954 10-27-2006 08:30 AM

Can someone explain to me what is meant by 'E' size? I bought some product at a fair, but don't have a 'demo'.

I love the patterned/two sided 12x12 in the kits. I just bought the textured white cs. But what paper has the white core? All colored cardstock?

Is all colored cardstock textured? Or just what's called out as textured?

Thanks for any help!

ajcmeyer 10-27-2006 08:34 AM

My favorite out of the fall catty is the sets with the kids. I have gotten the halloween set, the school set, and the tooth fairy one. I made the most adorable Tooth fairy page for my son's lost two front teeth! It is a must have!

ArtofLove 10-27-2006 08:41 AM

gmcbunny thanks for the info. I just completed a form and will try to wait patiently for a demo to contact me.
