impressions plate or texturz?

I was wondering which you prefered? And do they turn out very differently? I have heard/seen that impression plate (like PTI ones) are more subtle than say the Cuttlebug ones. I have considered getting the impression plates, but I keep waffling....Are the Sizzix texturz plates good too? I know I am rambling sorry:oops: Any of your experience or thoughts or opinions would be really helpful. Just trying to learn a little more before I choose what to get

I use the impression plates in my cuttlebug all the time. I don't have any PTI (shipping cost issues with them), but I do have Fiskars & Sizzix/SU!. I personally get better/deeper impressions with the Fiskars - especially if I mist my paper with a mix of alcohol & water (about 50-50) before running it through. But I do really like both. Here is a card I used a Fiskars texture plate on (I don't have any in my gallery that I used the Sizzix/SU plates on - I'll have to pull them out and make a couple cards with them )

Unfortunately, PTI's shipping costs to anywhere outside of the US makes it not worth buying from them for where I live IMO. I'm not a cheapskate, but I won't pay more for shipping than what the product costs - but that's just me.

I hope you have luck with your plates. I really think the trick is to mist your cardstock first. That softens up the fibers and really makes a difference in getting a good deep impression.
