Default Stampoholic-the-ultimate- stamping-tool

I came across this by way of reading another SCS thread that referenced this site for other items. This resembles the MISTI.

***New Item*** STAMPOHOLIC-The ultimate stamping tool ? TupeloDesignsLLC

I'm surprised that with the MISTI having a patent pending someone would be able to make something that looks identical to sell. Aren't knock off's/imitations usually cheaper than the genuine item? Looks like this one costs the same. I know they say "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery", but if I'd put my blood, sweat and tears into inventing something like Iliana did I would be sick to see a copy of it being sold.

I'm part of an Australian Facebook Stamping group and my understanding from discussions we have had on there is that the Stampoholic is made in India by Die Cuts and More (who are based in India) - and has obviously made the product available in other countries. Please note I am in no way promoting the product as I own and love my MISTI & think it is an amazing tool.

As the owner of a patent from a former business we had years ago, I will tell you that it's extremely difficult to keep products from being "knocked off" in other countries, even if you own a patent.

Small businesses don't have the money to hire lawyers and aggressively pursue copy-makers. Big corporations have law firms on retainers and can do it, but small businesses with just a few products have a much harder time.

Thanks for this clarification. I did wonder about this.
As a side note, I do now own a MISTI, and can now say I like using photopolymer stamps because of it. Thank you, Iliana, for bringing this product to market.

Well that didnt take long. :( I am sorry for Ilana. I wish she had the wherewithall to sue them. That is really a total copy in my mind. I am wondering if they will loophole saying the patent was not in place.
