what would you like to see SU! do?

I would love them to make more stamps that can be used with current dies and punches! I'm tired of having to buy another new punch or die that goes with a stamp or two. I know, I know. I don't have to buy, but I very much love the stamps that have the dies or punches to match since my hands hurt when I cut a lot. More stamps to go with current punches and dies please! What would you like to see besides the retiring list early!

I'm also tired of all the new punch shapes we're supposed to buy to go with new stamps.Why not new stamps to go with current punches and dies?

And smaller DSP pads like 6 by 6 or 8 by 8. would be nice. Paying almost $22 plus shipping for a 12 by 12 color group paper stack seems high to me. Smaller ones would be less expensive. But they only seem to show up in the smaller catalogs and not in the yearly one.

I love color so I still think they need to expand the color groups back to 12 like they used to. IMHO they had to get more frugal when the economy tanked and I guess you can't blame them.

Chiming in with more stamps for existing dies!!! Yes, would rather have three or four choices for a die set than one set, one set of dies. . . Might be more tempting for those holding off on buying the dies to pick them up if there were more sets to go with.
Like the idea of 6x6 DSP with white background for the envelope punch board!! Good thinking! I've been making white envelopes and lining them with DSP or other pics. Who else was disappointed that the envelope liner dies don't really work with the punch board envelopes?? I don't always think that far ahead. . . ;0)
All that said, I LOVE SU and really have not purchased much else. When I do, it usually just sits there. . . SU quality surpasses most and when it doesn't they stand behind it!

I'd like them to change the required $300 order every 3 months for demos to stay active to $1200/year. It's the same amount of money for them, but might make it a bit easier for hobby demonstrators to continue to stay active.

I'd like to see ALL of their stamp sets (but especially their alphabet and two-step sets) available in photopolymer!

Also, I'd like for them to crack down on states that don't require tax on the shipping (like mine doesn't) and force the demos in those states to refrain from collecting the tax on the shipping (even though my state doesn't require this I still have to pay tax on the shipping for SU!, even though I don't have to for Pampered Chef, Thirty-One, Norwex, etc.).

I'd also like to see them bring back some sets from the early '90s, back when I didn't have enough money to buy the stamps I wanted. Oooh, and it would be so cool if they brought back these older sets in photopolymer!

I would also love multiple sets to go with a die. So far the only "sets" I've gotten are the ones that I have been using for wedding stationary where I know I don't want to fussy cut 100 of the same shape.

I get outright cranky when a stamp set requires 3-5 different punches or dies for the various images. PLEASE let us have multiple options for the ONE or TWO punches/dies that we have and love! I've passed over at least three or four stamp sets because of this...

Entice us with several stamp sets for EACH punch or die so we can find something that suits our individual style. Not everyone wants "classy", not everyone wants "grunge" or "whimsical" or "cute" or whatever - choices would allow everyone to enjoy the punch or die, right?

Following the "individual style" thought: can we have a variety for the holidays, at least, please? Some Goth and some cute for Halloween, for example. Some traditional and some funky and/or cute for Christmas. Some elegant and some whimsical for Easter. You get the idea...

I'm also on board with the smaller paper packs - NONE of the patterned papers I've bought recently are 12" x 12" - I sometimes never need that size

My own desire for older SU! stamp sets was actually inspired by CTMH's "Jeanette's Archive" collection. Older stamp sets, in photopolymer!! I've ordered my two favourite sets from way back when ("Stitched with Love" and "Pick a Posey").

Hi Anne! I (and, I'm sure, others) realize that there are alternatives and most of us are "equal opportunity stampers" - we buy from all over the place! I have an extensive collection of CTMH stamps (used to be a consultant, now support a lovely lady in my area) and am adding to it periodically. The OP was asking specifically about SU, so that's what the responses are about...


As far as CTMH and Cricut cartridges, though: I'm adamantly opposed to purchasing a Cricut, so I'm sort of bummed that there aren't die/punch alternatives. I still buy sets that have Cricut cartridges available - I just fussy cut them myself. That's okay for most of them, but labels and frames would be nice to have dies for...

I was introduce to stamping through SU and have enjoyed every moment of it. I agree with most of the above comments, but I love coloring therefore I would love sceneries and such...I think it would be so much more versatile for different occasions, not to mention lots of fun to colour.

2. Definitely would love more stamps to go with the punches and framelits. Especially sentiments and label frames.
3. I reeeeeeealy wish they still had fabric. I've so enjoyed using what I have to make some bags, purses, slippers, etc. especially because I can find coordinating ribbon and buttons to go with it- having that combination is such a rare treat and it makes the finished product look so much better!
4. Craft ink. I have the spots and most of the reinkers, and I like that I can use them on fabric (they're sort of washable), and that the colours will last a lot longer than the dye ink. That's kind of important if you're making a scrapbook or some other special keepsake.
5. More photopolymer stamps, and more sets of them that take advantage of the "two-step stamping" style that SU! is famous for. Also some with finer details. I've been scratching my head over why SU! has mostly come out with these heavy-lined, dare I say rather crudely designed photopolymer sets when photopolymer is capable of just as much detail as rubber. And it's far easier to line up or combine images. I wish SU! would recognize these advantages. In fact, there are so many stamp sets of theirs that I would just love...if they were photopolymer. I've dropped lots of them from my wish list because I've learned that I'm just too lazy to line everything up with my stamp-a-ma-jig all the time.
6. More reasonably-priced framelits. I gulped and swallowed hard when I ordered the Word Bubble framelits for $30.95 (that's Canadian) but did only because I figure they'll be useful for long enough and with so many different stamps that I'll use them for a long time. And that's one of the cheaper framelits sets. I could see $20 a set, even $25 for a large 'nestie-like' set, but upwards of $30 is pretty steep.

Totally agree with you on number six. The price of their dies is outrageous. I only own two SU framelits (for the flip cards, and I got those on sale). Truly, there are companies that make the same dies at half the price, and they've probably introduced them at least six months to a year before SU did. Speech bubble dies are the same no matter who's making them, and I refuse to pay double.

I hopped on the fabric craze a little late, so now I buy them all up when I see them on the clearance rack. I do like them, though.

I also think it's weird that they do not sell heavy weight card stock, especially with the trend of CAS cards.

I would add one more to the list: more clearance items! Seriously, it's just about the only way I'll purchase from SU these days! If I wait long enough, it will go to clearance, and if it doesn't, then I probably didn't need it.

I would like to see more sets appropriate for children, but especially little girls. I find the current sets very limiting, I have purchased the monster set and in the past some sports. My little granddaughter is turning 3 and for the past two years have been disappointed with the choices offered, not all little girls are princesses or girly girl (although she can be!) Put me down for lowering the prices on Framelits as well, completely out of control. I doubt that will happen though. Also, no more stamps that look like someone drew them on their coffee break or doodling while they were on the phone. I think they need some new blood on their design team, to me, all SU stuff looks the same and you can always pick them out in a crowd. It gets stale and dated after awhile. I do love their colors and I LOVE the new ink pads so I will always come back to them for paper and ink...but stamps and dies, those days are numbered.

For the first time since 1997, I am a hobby demo in pending status with Stampin Up, too. I still love stamping and very happy that I have many older sets to use. I will still purchase their paper, ink and the "whatevers" I need, but I am just so not in love with current stamp sets and designed paper. My young 20 something nieces like the product offered in current catalogs, so SU must want to appeal to a younger customer. I hope SU's next catalog will offer a little something with all age of stampers in mind!!
