I prefer the rubber stamps because I like the detailed images but I also prefer it unmounted because it's easier for me to judge placement through an acrylic block and it takes up less storage space which is a big issue for me. I do have some clear stamps that I like but if I had my d'ruthers I'd choose the unmounted rubber.
Unmounted rubber is my first choice. But, between clear polymer and wood-mounted rubber, I would choose wood-mounted rubber. I do not buy clear stamps. Just don't want anything to do with them.
cause if it came wood mounted, I would unmount it.
If it only came wood mounted, I would think hard before buying, because it's usually more $ for the wood mounted (understandably so). So I would have to like the image a lot to buy it on wood then unmount it.
I did this with a bunch of inky antics stuff... I bought all the wood mounted ones I liked in their clear polymer version. This was before I really knew there was a difference between the two. And for me, storage is an issue, so I need flat stamps. I didn't realize that with clear polymer it's a bit of a different technique to get a good image. So if there is an unmounted rubber version, now, with experience, I prefer that.
In a perfect world all my clear stamps would stamp just like my rubber ones... then I could see thru them and wouldn't need the stampamajig. LOL.
I prefer rubber...so I guess mounted rubber. However, I would most prefer unmounted rubber on EZmount. As others have said...I prefer the clean, crisp images that you get when using rubber. So far, I haven't found a clear stamp that provides that kind of quality.
Rubber on wood. For my favorite sets I've saved the stamp-a-majig sheets in the cases with the stamps. They're ready to go without making new sheets each time. Unmounteds and clears have to be re-aligned each time. Ugh.

My first choice would be wood mounted as I love the feel of the wood and the nice, crisp images. Unmounted on EZmount would be my next choice and third would be clear. I've just started using clear and learning as I go.
But, man, I can only imagine the production, inventory, and SKU nightmare involved for offering an image in all three formats! As I understand it, providing all these options for an image would simply result in a higher retail price for all three, no matter which one you bought/preferred.

Reason: typo
Definitely wood mounted. I'm a lazy stamper and I want to grab and stamp. Not hunt for the image, the block, etc. before I can get started. Don't care about storage. If I put it away............like in a binder or something.......I won't use it. OUt of site...........out of mind. I have over 165 SU sets, in their original boxes. Right where I can see them.
We must be long lost sisters!LOL! that is exactly how I feel. I am lucky storage is not a problem for me but I only want to mount my stamp once, not everytime I use it. My fingers get covered in ink and cleaner every time I use clear. I have stopped buying the studio g clear stamps because I never get a good impression. Give me wood or give me death! HAHA!
