Question What SU colors make you think summer??

I'm finally making a foray back into stamping after a seven month long hiatus, and I'm going to be making summer cards for friends and family.

So, what colors make you think "summer" when you see them in combination? Only SU colors, as I only use SU ink/paper! lol

TIA!

The Bold Brights - think beautiful flowers. Earth Elements to me means fall, Soft Subtles means spring, and Rich Regals means winter. I have no reason to think this - to me, it just is, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the welcome back! lol

None of the new colors, though...I haven't even *seen* a new catty, let alone ordered from one, so I'm stuck with the normal colors.

I agree with Kittypaws when she says the different color families for each season...that is how I view them, too.

One of my favorites is gable green...I like the combo with real red, too.

Thanks for all the suggestions...keep 'em coming.

I agree. Anything in Bold Brights. I especially love brilliant blue, tempting turquoise and green galore. Reminds me of a Caribbean cruise.

Hmmm. I'll try that. I use Sahara Sand and Bordering Blue for "beach"

I also love Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie with Black for summer

Pink Passion, Green Galore and Tempting Turquoise are another favorite

Anything in the Bold Brights! I agree that each family has a "season" of its own. I tend to use that family mostly during each season. However, I'll mix things up too.
Cool Caribbean is awesome and very summery. I like to put it with Tempting Turquoise and Taken with Teal.
I also like Summer Sun during the summer. Even though it is an Earth Element color, the name says it all! The new Marigold Morning is very summery looking to me too.
Welcome back and have fun!

I love the colorso of Green Galore, Only Orange, YoYo Yellow, Real Red and Tempting Turquoise. These always make me think of summer. Cameo Coral works too. I sometimes just look at the prints used in clothing to get my color schemes.

Here is another fun combo for anything beachy..

Sage shadow, blush blossom, and kraft (or sahara sand)

Here is a card I made with that combo -

Whoohooo!!!!!! Welcome back to stamping!!!! It's funny, I hovered my mouse over the thread and read your opening post and thought: "That's just like Sara - I wonder if she'll ever come back to stamping. I'll have to tell her about this thread." Then - duh!!!! I realised it WAS you!!!!

Sounds like you have enough colour combos to keep you going* so I won't post one - can't wait to see what you make!

(*oh go on then - can't resist. Last night I made a little bag with Green Galore and So Saffron, but Barely Banana would be a good substitute if you don't have Saffron. It looks fresh and clean like an English summer's day!)
