What is a stamp a stack?

I feel silly asking, but I see it here often and haven't a clue. Thanks!

I am pretty sure it a name for a card making get together... I have never been invited to one, but I hear they are fun.

And I think it involves making a lot of the same card, and hopefully a fairly easy one! Assembly line Christmas card making sounds like a good idea to me!

The one holding the event usually plans to have people do, say, 20 cards (5 of 4 designs or 4 of 5 designs...just an example.) People pay to come. You determine what you think is beneficial for you. It's best to limit the number of people. And to have people pay in advance. Also, some people just leave it up to their guests to cut the paper, but personally, I think it's best for you to have everything cut. No wastes.

We do 20 different themed cards.

They are set up with 2 different cards at each table.

You work through the tables until you have completed all 20 cards.

It is great fun!:)

EDITED TO ADD: Everything is precut and ready to assemble.

I have been to 2 that my demo has had. We make 10 simple cards, all different and really nice. She precuts the cs for us. We pay in advance. They are alot of fun...

How much is charged for one of these.

Judy Tulloch 07-18-2005 04:11 PM

We are charged 12.00 if we order frequently.... 15.00 if you haven't placed an order in I believe 3 mo..

I wish I was participating in these types of things. I am hangin out witht he wrong crowd!

I think different demos handle it differently. For example, I have never done the 20 cards (but sounds fun) but every year I do a holiday Stamp a Stack and do "16 for $15" where each person makes 4 each of 4 designs of holiday cards i have pre arranged and cut, and gets matching envelopes they can stamp there as well-gives everyone a jump on their holiday cards! LOL

Stamp a Stack can also be "themed" like a birthday stamp a stack, or an "Emergency Card Kit" SAS where they make all occasion cards and have them ready to go.

Wow Camsmon, you are very reasonbly priced. My old demo would charge for 10 cards, 5 designs $20.00. @2.00 verses less than $1.00 a card. YOu are awesome!!

it also depends on the depth of the cards, if that makes sense. Because they are making 16-they are usually just 2 or 3 layers with a little embellishment-not too fancy. When I have techniques classes (etc.) I charge more b/c of the materials used. The stamp a stack is generally a way to give them holiday ideas and get the ball rolling for their own cards. :)
