Default Paper to use with Copics

I keep reading about how there is certain paper that works best with copics, the question I have is where do you get it?

Any advise helps, I have Hobby Lobby and Michaels near me, but is it best to order it online and if so where?

Thanks in advance!

Amy

Xpress is one. I believe it's a Coptic brand paper and you might find it where you buy your copics. I'm not sure michaels carries it. GEorgia pacific 110lb is mentioned too and can be bought at Walmart in the us. I use it for most projects.

Neenah or Gina k are also mentioned by some Coptic users, but I can't tell you where to find it. I'm in canada, so those brands are harder for me to find.

I have tried them all and I totally prefer Cryogen white 89lb weight from Cut Card Stock . com They also have a text weight one I use for digitals and it works ok too with the copics. It is similar to Stampin Up shimmer white because it has a pearlized finish and the copics glide on it better for blending.

Marianne Walker is the queen of Copics. Her blog is all about Copic. Here is her take on papers.

I Like Markers: Cardstock Testing, and a bit about Copic

Michaels has a 110 lb cardstock, their Recollections brand. Lots of people use it for their card bases, and it works pretty well with Copics, too. You can use a coupon and get it for a very reasonable price.

Hi Amy. I use white card stock from Papertrey. Ive used it for years and it's great. The trick is to find paper that allows the ink to stay wet on the surface of the paper long enough for you to be able to move it around and blend it.

You'll also need the right kind of ink. Not all will work. I use Momento ink in black or brown. You can purchase it at hobby lobby or michaels. Hope this helps. If you have other questions let me know. I'm compiling a Copic 101 training I will post on my blog in the next couple days.

I like the Xpress paper but it sometimes will show white specks. I love this brand Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock from Crafter's Companion. I have the most success with blending using it.

I use Gina K White Cardstock for my Copic Markers. I also use Spectrum Noir Markers with their Spectrum cardstock. Both of these papers are super for coloring and blending.

I found Gina K's on her website.
and Spectrum Noir on Crafter's Companion.;)

There are several brands good for copics but I have to agree with JadeOnLine. I've tried most of them. Gina K is good and so is Papertrey but I am an X-Press It fan! Gina K is just as expensive and so are the rest if not more so. I've been thrilled with X-press It since I tried it. No more bleeding through and the blending is smooth.

Crafter's Companion has a cardstock made for alcohol based markers. I have found it to give the best results....

Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock Unscored 8.5" x 11" - 20 Sheet Package
