Default What type of HANGING paper storage do you have?

I've decided to go with hanging so I can keep my scraps together with the like color.

Just thought I would get some input on which ones you have. I've been looking at several and I'm trying to decide between the open type or the drawer type.

Thanks for any input!

If you mean hanging file folders, I have my cs like that. I have them in file folders, all in color families, each labeled by color. They are kept in open crates, away from the window so that the sun won't fade the cs.

Here is a link to a pic of the crate set up BEFORE I had all the colors of SU cs...
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I now have 2 crates exclusively for SU cs...and one crate for "generic" store brand cs ;-) lol

I store my SU! cardstock in hanging folders in a small file cabnit. I have a picture attached. The top drawer has Neutrals, Bold Brights and Soft Subtles. The bottom drawer has Earth Elements and Rich Regals.

Default lateral filing cabinet

I have mine hanging in a lateral filing cabinet (they are shorter than regular filing cabinets so I don't have to stand up to reach paper). I love it. I have the papers all separated by color family and then by individual color.

Hi Scrappinchick you look very organized. Are you hanging 8 1/2"x11" cardstock in your crate? I've been looking for hanging files for 12x12 cardstock and also a place to hang them as I think that is the way to go. I have found the magazine type holders but I would like to use the hanging. Staples (in Canada) have the hanging foldings but they are 4 for $9.99 way too much. Has anyone found what I'm looking for?

Hi!!

Organization is a challenge for me!! lol

I have 8.5X11 in the crates. I had searched for nearly 2 years before I found 12x12 plastic drawers at Walmart that I LOVE. I never found a hanging file system for 12x12 that worked for me. I do not have as much 12x12 as I do 8.5X11, so the drawers work great. Since the drawers are see-thru, I made my own tab dividers, and you can see those thru the front of the drawer.

I got a chrome hanging file cart from Costco ($29.99). You have to put it together but you can arrange the shelves the way you want. Hanging Folders on top or the bottom. You can make the top a table top or or make a shelf lower on the cart. It also has 2 metal mesh drawers on the bottom.

It has plenty of room for all of the colors.

I have two Sterelite (sp?) carts that have a 8 1/2 x 11 hanging file drawer on the bottom and two drawers on top. I use regular hanging file folders and purchased tabs from a link I saw in a post some time back of someone who does CS sample rings, etc. (http://www.getorganized.homestead.co...asic4Page.html) They work great! In my two top drawers I have my stamps organized into categories.

Thanks for posting girls. It seems most of you use 8 1/2 x 11. Unfortunately I generally buy 12x12 so regular file drawers don't work for me. I guess the cart thing is where I'm headed. I did see that Crop In Style has a 12x12 file drawer, but I'm afraid I'd get carried away and spend a ton of money once I got started!!!

I forgot to mention the file cart at Cosco is only good for legal or letter size hangers. I brought one home thinking it might do for 12x12 but they were too short (the 12x12 hangers that I have from Staples) Still looking!!!

I got a hanging folder with the inter-locking lid from Staples that works the best for 8.5X11. I have all the colors by family ...full packs of paper. And I have room for white, black and the neutrals.
Then I have a manila file folder in each color to hold the scraps. So at all times the colors are always together. I love it. I haven't figured out 12X12 yet...I have them in the Cropper Hopper veritcal ones....for now. But I want to get to the hanging system. I think it is alot easier to use..and I have both.
It is fun to organize....it makes creations alot easier to make

I purchased 3 carts from Staples (link below). You can use them for just 8 1/2 x 11 or as 12 x 12 with space for 8 1/2 x 11 at the end as shown in the picture. I have 2 for all my colored cardstock and the space at the end of the 12 x 12 is used for specialty papers (gold, silver, copper, glossy, etc.). I like them because they can be rolled to my table and you can see them all without having to dig into the back of a file drawer. I found a box to fit on the bottom shelf of each cart and keep misc stuff that's too big for my Iris drawers (binding machine, etc.).

I use a lot of 12x12 paper because I am a scrapper first.
It is not hanging storage tho. I have not found anything that I like that I can afford yet.

I have 6 of the Cropper hopper vert storage cases. I like those too. I got mine at a local scrapbooking store b4 SU had them in their catty. Costco was carrying a kit of them fro way cheap too.

Is that one from Staples come in red or blue and has a flip top with the hanging folders inside and a handle to carry around. If it is - it doesn't hold too much.

I'm planning on getting the vertical paper holders for all my 12x12 CS from SU. I have all of my 8 1/2 x 11 in hanging files and I love that but I want the paper holders for my 12x12 b/c I have less of it and like the convenience

I think your talking about letter or legal size hanging folders for $7.99. I was wrong with my quote its 6 for 9.99 but these are found in the scrapbooking section of staples and they are for 12x12 cardstock.
