What goes with copper?
I just got the copper cs, ep, & cord...FINALLY (better not retire!) =0b
Now that I have it, I'm a little stuck. I've seen it before, but I'm sure you could tell me, with all your experience... What colors go best with copper? I remember seeing it with a green - olive?? Thanks so much! |
I like it with Not Quite Navy.
I use copper with quite a few things: my current faves are Vintage Violet or with Ruby red
taken with teal and certainly celery
Black of course, but my favorite is eggplant, sahara sand and copper, classy!
Taken with Teal, Really Rust and Black with copper...very Southwest looking!
I think you could use copper with almost anything. Think of it as an outfit. Would you wear some cute copper flats with it? I like it better with richer colors and silver with lighter cooler colors. Have fun experimenting.

I use it with the browns - Choc Chip the most!!
Regal Rose & choc chip.
I love it with Sage shadow and black.
Chocolate chip is my fave!
I like browns. I also really like it with Handsome Hunter. Sometimes it is hard to visualize but I think it would go good with any color.

Here are links to some samples from my gallery (a picture is worth 1000 words):
Non-SU but the shades of brown and cream were great with the copper embossing (imo): //www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/529119?cat=500&ppuser=26422 This uses Elegant Eggplant and Always Artichoke cardstock with Encore Copper ink: //www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/519919?cat=500&ppuser=26422 I hope you enjoy looking and that you will share your copper creations with us! |
I'm disappointed -- I thought you were writing a poem and needed a rhyme ...
Anyway, I vote for NQN as my fave also. |
Copper goes well with Night of Navy, too.
I have always been partial to copper, used it in lots of ways (most of which are buried in my gallery somewhere) but just happened to post one this evening. In case you didn't see it: Close to Cocoa
You won't regret getting all the copper doo-dads! |
Here's the copper paper and EP with basic black:

I like it with Not Quite Navy and Bordering blue, they make a nice trio.
Thank you all, for your ideas - it's so nice to have y'all! =) If anyone else sees this, please don't be shy about adding your $.02
Thanks! =) |
I like copper w/ all the earth elements, black, and almost all of rich regals. My favorite is copper cord and embossing powder w/vanilla paper and black accents. very strong great for masculine cards.
Eggplant, So Saffron, Always Artichoke!
You can't go wrong with copper and anything IMO but I love it with Rich Regals.

try it with all of your browns and reds.....gives a nice gradual monochromatic look. I do a lot of shading and distressing with it too!
I had this card in my faves.... uses mellow moss and apricot appeal...

I have two combinations that I like a lot:
* Copper, black, and kraft paper * Copper, turquoise, cool caribean, chocolate chip, and kraft (inspired by a jjill skirt) |
BLACK!
How about almost everything? I can't think of anything you can't use copper with. I like the darker colors best I think.
Here's a new twist and I could be wrong, but I think it would look great with the Perfect Plum.
I love copper and agree that it goes with a lot of things, but my favs are the greens -- copper in its natural state turns this gorgeous, gorgeous green -- can you picture it? SU doesn't really have a paper that color green, but I usually go with mellow moss or sage shadow -- I like brown shades with the copper as well -- but it really does go very well with a lot of colors -- have fun!!!
