I joined SCS after I had chucked in my job and everybody kept asking me how I was enjoying being a .......the novelty of not working hasn't worn off yet!
Punchaddict... I am addicted to punches... No doubt about it since I stopped counting at 700+ punches! Not gonna count stamps!
700 punches? How in the world do you store 700 punches?
Everyone spells my name wrong when they first meet me. (Well, not everyone, but a lot of people.) Some people who have known me for years, including two sisters in law spell my name wrong. It drives me crazy when people spell my name wrong. I can send someone an email, sign it Lynne, and they reply to me with Lynn: So, I'm Lynne with an e.

Not to hijack this thread, but it drives me insane when people misspell my name. I get Mariann, Marianne, Maryann, Maryanne. It's Mary Ann - two words, no e. I also did not change my name when DH and I married. Everyone knows that, but DH's family insists on addressing mail to us to Mr & Mrs His Name.
OK - hijack is over.

What a fun read....my screen name means that I was in a hurry to comment on cards or or share a card or something like that and did not think about how ridiculous it would sound to have someone call me 'stamp momma' out loud.
Who'd a thought I'd end up living part of my life on this little ole website...
When I sign personal things (cards, notes, that type of thing), I always sign "Peace and Joy" or "Peace, Joy and Love" depending on the recipient of said item. My reference is to the peace, joy and love our Heavenly Father has for us and wants us to accept, as well as passing it along to others.
My name is rather unusual, so I really don't get annoyed when people get it wrong. It's pronounced Shan-Duh. I get Shawnda, Shondra, CHAN-dra, CHONdra, Shandra. You name it, I've been called it. What annoys me is when (on the rare occasion) I correct someone because they're really having trouble, and they say something stupid like, "Whatever". Whatever??? Okay, how about I just call you Skanko! Whatever! LOL! I've never had the nerve to do that, but it sure crosses my evil little mind, ha ha ha ha!
Mine's not terribly creative either. I started this obsession with scrapbooking, and I LOVE to knit. Therefore, I became "scrappy knitter". If I had known how much I would've come to love stamping, I would've probably become "stampin' scrappy knitter"!
mine is truly boring....shar for sharon mill for miller; when I was still in the workforce we had to use the first four of our first and last names for our ID names and when I retired and needed a name this was one I knew I could remember.
glitter because I have been followed by a cloud of it for over 18 years now
dove was my teenage nickname and I raised them for awhile
fairy is for the love of mystical and mythological
I have used glitterdovefairy for nearly every computer name for 13 years...

polish princess of CT.
I am the offspring of two beloved departed souls who came from Poland , were traumatized from being taken from thier homes as teenagers and sent to a war work camp by the Natzi's. They arrived in this country with little money, some clothes , learned the language and made something of themselves. I consider I had and still have the life of a princess compared to them and anyone else who has witness first hand a war.
and on a lighter note.... I am married to a wonderful Greek.
"Do you know if there's a 12-step program for stamping? No, seriously, is there??"
uh, so when you make your amends, are ya gonna send the person a card?
HAHAHAHA
(oh i just crack myself up sometimes!)
I really should... and could with all of the cards I'm amassing! Makes you wonder about what kind of stamping transgressions you can do?!? My husband thinks I'm nuts and SERIOUSLY addicted!

Some cute names here - S. Hines = shines = darling. Shadowkat is cute; I'll have to remember that when Denim, my 18-year-old mutt, moves on.
Anyway, binx. My "for real" name is Jennifer Clark - like there aren't thousands of those.
After endless incidences of businesses confusing me with other Jennifer Clarks, I told my husband, whose name is James, we had to change our last name to something less common. :p
"Something easy to say, easy to spell," I was kidding about changing the name for real, but now he calls me "Binx." Easy to say, easy to spell and since nobody has it - I don't have to add numbers = easy to remember for this word gal! The l/c is b/c one of my English profs said, "once you master the basics, you can bend the rules" - out the capital letters went.
lora - first name
marie - middle name
03 - year I graduated h.s.
Kinda rhymes...I use it for everything, too!
As for the name misspelling, I feel your pain!! People at my old job used to do it all the time and I would get so mad (not to mention that I hated the job so I tried to find anything to fuel my hatred...)....or the people who have a hard time pronouncing my name and call me Lori, Lara or ask how to pronounce it. Its not that difficult people!
lbirus= Lynn Birus. Everyone thinks it's I birus because the lower case l looks like a capital I.
I did want to go with "reads in red" because I'm a reading teacher and I love red but then I thought it should be more stampy than that. So I thought I might do "stampsinred" but there were too many "stamps... etc" names so by the time I decided I couldn't decide, I decided that it was too late to change it cuz someone might actually recognize me as lbirus.
My screen name comes from a movie, La Vida Loca that my husband and I watched once about some gang in L.A. one of the girls was called Mousie and I took the name as my screen name not because I'm "mousy looking" but because I'm kind of shy and I usually lurk on forums instead of being one of the "popular girls". In truth, I'm not a collector of mouse items as some people who might be called Mousie would be but I'm a cat lover. Sometimes I'm Miss Mousie because Mousie is sort of a popular screen name on other sites.
When I joined, I had just purchased a new pair of cute blue shoes for summer. Now every summer, I try and find a pair that goes well with denim jeans and shorts, so you will often find me sporting cute blue shoes. I have since found cute note cards from Mary Engelbriet of cute blue shoes. One of these days I'll take a picture and upload that as my avatar.
mimi4gsus... my grandkids call me mimi and I always try to live for Jesus... so go figure... LOL... Several people had the name mimi and I love Jesus with all my heart and soul so it just kinda happened.
I am a paramedic and I used to work with a really cute blond guy who looked like a Ken Doll...thus he became RES-Q-KEN and I therefore became RESQBARBIE!
When I was 9, my first nephew was born. When beginning to talk, we found he had a slight speech impediment and couldn't pronounce his J's like a lot of babies and couldn't get his tongue to pronounce the D's. My first name is Judy ... he tried hard to say it but it came out "ooh-bee." My nickname has been "Oohby" ever since. He's now 40, I'm 49.
Believe it or not, when I wanted to use it for user ID's and such, I tried various spellings "oohbee," "ubee," "oobee" -- they were taken -- hence the spelling.
Funny story -- I worked for a law firm as an legal secretary for 21 years -- a life-long family friend called who was meeting me for lunch, thought I answered the phone and said "Hey Oohby, where do you want to meet?" My office mate, the other secretary said "Excuse me, are you asking for Oohby?" I just laughed and laughed, and said "Lori, I think that's for me!":p
Almost 10 years ago, my younger brother died and my husband and I became guardians to his 11-year-old son. Quite the change for 2 people with no children and already in their 40's. At about the same time, I signed up for a Yahoo e-mail account and decided that I really wasn't a mother or a wicked stepmother, but I could be a wicked aunt. (FYI, he asked if he could call me mom within the first 2 months of living with us.) PS: I'm really not wicked at all. Lovin' this thread.
Out east "wicked" means awesome or a slangish descriptor of really good as in that song was "wicked bad" or that test was "wicked hard". I think a much more apt description of your role in your nephews life.
Let's see ticketbelle - I work in the entertainment field doing ticketing for various concert/sports/arts venues in our area and belle is just belle. As in girl I guess. I wanted to use ticketchick but a friend of mine in the industry already had the screen name - drat her...
sprtchick comes from a friend a few years ago who was sprtsfan. He has since passed away at 37. I have kept the name just because I dont want to let it go. :(
