Hmmm... I seem to have acquired a few different sizes of square envelopes over the years. I never make my own envelopes! (Me soooo lazy! ;) ) And sometimes, I'll just use an envelope created for a bigger greeting card (like the ones leftover from old Christmas cards?) and that way avoid having to pay extra postage for the square size. It might not look as elegant as a well-fitted square envelope, but it works!
so if you make a 5.25 x 5.25 card, do you start out with 12 x 12 paper or just make it from 8.5 x 11? I was thinking 4.25 to get 2 cards out of the smaller size paper, but that does seem a little small for a card.
So it cost more to mail square cards even oz per oz? Oh brother! I'm glad I read this because I was gonna mail one tomorrow with reg. postage...THANK YOU! And thanks for the dimensions also
If you put it in a regular envelope, you should be able to mail at regular cost, unless it's lumpy. I like square cards, but I hand them out. I do have some clear envelopes that I think are 5.5, so I guess I'm going with 5.25 cards.
