What do you need to craft?
Is there one thing you need in order to craft. I think I need a masseuse! I am getting headaches from eye strain and back aches from standing. A masseuse, for an hour a day, is my ideal crafting need!

I need...
Someone to cut my paper.
Maybe I need a new paper cutter but I have 4, all different sizes and makes.
I've watched Connie Stewart's flash card videos so often and it looks so easy, I write things down and then start cutting. What the heck? Two pieces of paper that are different sizes. Huh? I just wanted to cut it in half.
I guess that's one reason I got a "D" in arithmetic in grade school. You can tell how old I am, I still call it arithmetic!!!

I must have music. I put Spotify on my computer, whatever genre I am feeing, and there is it. Right now it's Christmas jazz. Just perfect
And then I need to munch on either cinnamon hearts or rockets...

I love Connie's videos. I've made several of her flash cards and I only found her about a week or so ago!

Inspiration – YouTube videos, Pinterest, etc. When I get inspired, I immediately run to the craft room, which is good for keeping the creativity juices flowing. Did that just last night with a technique using UTEE and Perfect Pearls that I saw Dyan Reaveley demonstrate on YouTube. It came out beee-u-tiful!

I'm righting my crafting space after a mad rush for a craft fair. A clean up fairy would be really terrific as I now have to take stock so I can make our Christmas cards.
I also second the glasses and someone to cut cardstock. I seem to have to trim my 5 X 7 card bases no matter what I do.

I need ideas. If I can't think of what I want to do, nothing happens.

A little hint is to measure your paper before cutting. I find that not all paper is really what you think. If my paper is supposed to be 12x12 and it's really 12x12 1/16, I trim off the 1/16 to make it really 12x12.
As for the original question - time is all I need to be a happy crafter

Glasses. Inspiration/Ideas. Free time. Table space (12"x12"). Without these, nothing happens in my craft room.
And then there is the paper, ink pad, stamp, Copic discussion about what supplies I most likely need to craft.

Undistracted (no phone calls, etc) peaceful time. Music. The design idea and some tea or diet pepsi. Which never happens.

Nothing much but desire....used to be I needed enough supplies to easily create. I have plenty of supplies now and then some! I haven't been really into card making lately. That's ok. It comes and goes.
I don't need chocolate, music, TV, sunlight, soda, winter, snacks, etc. Nope nothing extra. Just need me some motivation! I case cards generally, so I don't even need ideas. I have plenty of those.

I need to be awake. Sometimes I want to make a card, but instead I just sit there, fighting sleepiness.

A good cutter makes ALL the difference. I have the RotoTrim Professional and it is worth EVERY dime it costs. There are several sizes. I have the 15, but if I were to buy again I would get the 12". Self sharpening blade, cutting guide. My only complaint is that I've used it SO much the lines are wearing off. I'd protect that surface with a clear contact sheet if I had it to do over. Live and learn you know!

I need no kids bugging me but they can't be too quiet either or I know they are up to something. (My 4 year old loves to perch on the arm of my chair. I don't mind except he wiggles all over the place, tries to sit on my back when I lean forward and wants to 'help!! And I like it when my 14 to comes to talk to me.) I need lots of daylight (or daylight lamps) and a 12x18" space to work. I usually try to make so with half that because I hate clearing my desk!!

I need to have all my other work done before I feel like I can go into my room and play. I know ... it's a crazy thought! And I'm retired to boot ... I have something wrong with my priorities!
