I Have heard people talk about using hairspray over chalk to keep it from coming off. Now here's the question...is it aerosol or can you use the pump hair spray and how do you keep the little water droplets from showing up on your paper.
Good question. I used to not seal my chalks, basically because I didn't even think about it. See, when I made a card, I sent it off. Now I wonder if people rubbed colors off their cards when they got them! So I started lightly sealing chalk, sometimes. I don't seal it if I use a blender pen. But if there's a lot of "chalk dust" - then I definitely seal it. I made a whole dark background with daubers (light colors) the other day, and then used Versamark to pull the chalk off.
I actually have bought some art quality sealant, paid too much cos I couldn't find it! But I save it for special things. I don't seal every card I send out.
I guess if you do a lot of swaps, it might be something to think about. I suppose when you send a card to a friend, you don't expect it to be handled like a swap would be. So I'd seal cards for a swap - do them all at once and lay them across some newspaper and have a light touch.

I have read that you don't need to seal chalks. Blow off the excess, and the chalks should bond to the paper with time. I'm not sure if that meant minutes or hours - I haven't really experimented.
